I'm just curious to know but does the Garda team include the likes of Aidan O'Mahoney or other current inter county players? mugsys_barber (Tyrone) - Posts: 2160 - 15/11/2009 21:57:49 484508 Link 0 |

The Garda tough? Don't make me laugh, EVERY police force in the world is sent to the North to toughen up. patrique (Antrim) - Posts: 13709 - 16/11/2009 01:00:03 484656 Link 0 |
Guards will eat them. I played in the emergency services tournament last july in Templemore and the Garda team won the whole competition , easily beating an exellent prison service team in the final. The PSNI were no great shakes , we (N.I.A.S) beat them handily enough as did the fire service , prison service and Garda teams. The PSNI did however beat the RAF & British army teams. dubupnorth (Dublin) - Posts: 1897 - 16/11/2009 09:50:00 484732 Link 0 |

We played AIB Kerry that year too at home. ruanua (Donegal) - Posts: 4966 - 16/11/2009 10:30:14 484773 Link 0 |
ruarua , that would be Westmanstown. Serious set up there. (sorry for using the term 'set up' in a thread about the Gardai! Lol) dubupnorth (Dublin) - Posts: 1897 - 16/11/2009 10:47:59 484787 Link 0 |

The first year the SESIF (Security & Emergency services of Ireland forum) tournament was played the Gardai had James Masters , Aidan O'Mahony & Kieran Cremin playing for them and actually LOST the final to the Prison service. This years team only had Barry Brennan from Laois who I recognised and they won. dubupnorth (Dublin) - Posts: 1897 - 16/11/2009 14:20:10 485016 Link 0 |

Considering the record of the Bristish "security" forces in their dealings with the GAA, having them play the games is to act like their past actions never happened. JPM1981 (Kildare) - Posts: 825 - 17/11/2009 19:53:26 486576 Link 0 |
