cheers for the info tyronecaman man. Which brings me to my second point it appears some posters are either bigging up their cronies or else they have lost their marbles. That young lad Downey is a decent prospect, but you can't be serious with all these platitudes, if he were as good as some of you are saying he shuld definitely be playing for the first team, and if he were as dedicated as some of you are saying he would not have only recently begun training with the team. From what I have learned here he musn't be that good and is definitely not up to county standard. As someone else pointed out on another thread I doubt he'd even start on any division 1 team in Antrim.

kdog I wish you would read my comments more thoroughly before dismissing them or trying to pick faults. Yes in the past I have endorsed young Downey, I saw a fgreshers match where he was absolutely fantastic and he was very good for both St. Johns and Antrim everytime I saw him. However players can go downhill as well as uphill. It may have been I only caught him while playing poor opposition but now that I have found out he isnt even on the Queens first team it casts my whole judgement into doubt. He may have appeared good to me but if he cant start on his own university team he must not be as good as he once was. Why that is I don't know but that is my view on the situation at present.

Quit talking about individual players, no matter how good or bad they may be, this is not the right place to be talking them up or down. Let all Antrim players get a good pre season done then you can start to judge them around August time, let them have a break men.
