Mia culpa, mia culpia, mia maxama culpa, gentleman these were the players most mentioned in recent posts and shane dowling was never mentioned. Coming from a pro football club and a true limerick supporter whos son is playing all football and (suhh)a little hurling(dont tell).Last sunday in rathkele made me stop and think at last we have a panel and a group of people over them that if they are left together and concectrate on what looks to me as their first love hurling, then they will have a new followeror

Interesting to see 2 kerrymen make their debut as goalkeepers for Limerick in the National league. Brendan saw action last week v carlow in football and Tadgh Flynn started today v Galway. Who are the up and coming goalies coming through the Limerick GAA set up?

Scammell, you're talking utter rubbish. Ahane are certainly not amalgamating with any club at underage. If all the other Clubs in Limerick had as good an underage structure as Ahane, there would be no fear of hurling in Limerick.

If we are believe the content of the above post in how one of the "5 CLUBS" is faring,a club that we in our club dreaded if we had to play because they hammer us,then you would say that

As far as I can recall the present 2010 Ahane Minor team won NO game in the Under 16 Championship in 2008 so it would be reasonable to assume that they are not Minor Premier contenders. Just because they have 5 on a County Minor panel of 40 does'nt mean that any of these players will make the final panel. No point putting a team into a competition to be hockeyed in every game. I would expect that Ahane will play Minor Premier next year as they were in the Under 16 final in 2009.

david Barry from kilmallock gets dropped after winning a minor and u21 Premier championship this year ... what a disgrace .. .. also jeremy lynch gets dropped eventhought he was the u17 full back in mallow last year.

treanlewis it doesnt matter what any underage player has done in the past, its the current year that counts. Thats always been the case, when i was playing underage we never had the same panel every year, some lads develop quicker than others so while someone can make the 1st 15 at u14, they might not even make the panel at u16 or minor

lynch was dropped because he never struck the ball on the run at training, a bit harsh to be dropped maybe..big strong skillful hurler..
donie barry is a very sticky corner back but theres a bit change from club to county.
Theres still one or two on the panel who are there because of who their fathers are, more than what they can do on the pitch.

As far as I know Ahane were in the City East competition last year and didn't make the finals. Wouldn't have expected them to be good enough for premier this year.

so a player like david barry can turn useless in the space of 3 months eventhough the managers only saw him play 2 games over the six weeks he was on the panel .. also how can jeremy lynch go from full back last year to not even making the panel this year .. i think its funny the way better hurlers who are on the age are being dropped while a whole load of u17 are still on the panel ... politics!!!!!!

i find this an absolute joke...treanlewis u are spot on...its all about who u know..players either hav fathers involved in the county board or wat not..this is wats wrong with limerick hurlin...better players like jeremy lynch and david barry have been dropped to accomodate this...are the selectors serious in winning a munster championship? i dont want to hear tings lyk its all on form this year...its not enough to judge a player on 2 challenge games against poor teams...jeremy lynch started for the u17s last year at full back and is a fine strong powerful hurler and david barry won a minor premier title last year with kilmallock and also started on the 21s kilmallock team who won the county premier championship in the same year....also other players who are worthy of a place have been dropped just because of politics!! as treanlewis stated...this is not good enough and im sure it is not happening in other counties.....also is it true that sean kelly from adare has been dropped?
