Treanlewis the real facts Webb-o Rourke / Mulcahy / Donna did not train with the minors last sunday morning they played soccer. The soccer and the minor hurling training were on at the same time. Egan also played soccer but has withdrawn from the hurling panel. All killmallock players real commitment will be tested to the full shortly and i hope they go with the hurling because they are excellent players. But it thry opt for soccer best of luck to them and we will see them in the world cup.PS o loughlin and o donnell did train Did ye send C.Crowley to the trials.

Well if the Kilmalock lads were not training due to soccer matches and are let back for the championship. Then that will be a disgrace.

123fedup .. you dont even know what you are talking about.. i was actually at the minor training and i saw all the kilmallock lads there except robert egan who is not playing this year. so stop accusing the kilmallock lads of choosing soccer over hurling because in the end they will all make the panel and probly the starting team

PS see you in rathkeale on sunday o sorry kilmallock are playing in fai its on at 2pm you will be ok you will make it back on time you never answered did ye send C Crowley for trials

Limerick Eye Sorry but i am not jealous of the kilmallock players i have nothing but prase for the kilmallock players if you read all my previous posts.my own club na pairsaig have also a lot of talent what i am questioning is committment .traenlewis whos a kilmallock man stated that all kilmallock players were in rathkeale last sunday training and that he was there he also stated i did not know what i was talking about but when i gave the real situation he came back to say 2 players did not attend i will be in rathkeale this sunday and will report on the situation there is also soccer on this sunday kilmallock are at home in fai cup at 2pm. there is soccer on every sunday so players have to committ one way or the other and i hope for the sake of 2010 minors the choose the hurling but if the opt for soccer i wish tem well in that sport yours in sport

123fedup.. thanks for making that clear then nyway we shouldnt just be talkin about the kilmallock lads because are they the only players not 100% commited at times! im sure theres many others. am i right or wrong?

Limerick Eye AS far the present minor panel is concerned hego had 47 players starting off 3 have withdrawen 1.B Mc Carthy gone to footballers 2 M Flynn gone to the footbalers 3. R.Egan opted for soccer. The South Liberties players have re joined the panel after their exit from club championship and the ard scoil boys attend but do not train if there is a harty match too close .the problem with the kilmallock lads is that soccer is on sundays junior and youths and also some are also on Limerick district youths panel. There soon will be a conflict of intrest and they will have to committ one way or the other.

if limerick minors loose the kilmallock boys it will be a huge blow because they have some great hurlers i dont think it will come to this stage because these lads will work round both hurlin and soccer its there choice at the end of the day and we have to respect that. they are under alot of pressure to keep everyone happy hurlin and soccer. the soccer season is at its probely most crucial point of the season and the games these lads are playin in are important and they dont want to let down the people of kilmallock. hurlin is a summer game and i think they have started trainin too early. when is the first competive of match on for the minors?

Your on the ball "treanlewis" well spotted, but that was a league match in kilmallock u16h,they ran through adare the same nite.On that nite Conor Crowley cleaned out John Fifzgibbon and Kevin O Donnell gave an exebittion that evening.IN the final two weeks later in the Final adare well beat kilmallock and Conor Crowley who never played that day never played with kilmallock again leaving adares John Fitzgibbon(Shanes son, on current Harty team) to run amuck scoring at will

Lads wont comment too much on the soccer situation, but i would have thought it would be a no brainer! Might be important to those playing soccer, but i doubt the vast majority of the general public give a rats a..e about the soccer comps mentioned above. The chance to play minor for your county however,a fleeting opportunity that only a lucky few get, miss that chance and theres no going back.

kilmallock are a better outfit without crowley....im not bein bad on the young lad, its just that the lads in the same age group had never won a county hurling medal before this year but this year without crowley in the team they won the minor championship with ease and also won a 21s county championship......kilmallock didnt show up in the 16s final but declan hannon was awesome that day!.....kilmallock are much stronger now, as the players have developed and matured as hurlers.........'an puc' john fitz is not a fantastic hurler....when adare met kilmallock last year in the minor semi-final john fitzgibbon didnt get a look in! he started full forward and got cleaned him then he was moved to the corner and got cleaned

kilmallock minors next year will be unreal and will beat any team that comes there way. from last years panel they are only missin 1 from last years startin 15 and that player even missed a few games i believe. conor crowley would have to fight for his place if he makes a return which is highly unlikely.

OK,lets all agree on one thing, there is some execptional minor hurlers in the county and in a way 123fedup is right. We all need focus our minds and try to get this exceptional bunch of 17/18 year olds to wear the county colours.Be it east/south/city/west that your from we have to unite and back this group. As much and all i love football,I have to admit after reading all the posts I sneaked into rathkele watch the hurlers last sunday been put through their paces.I was impressed, training was down to start at 10am,the fields were white with frost, all were out by 10 to 10 warming up.The two squads 35 in rathkele/8 more with ard scoil in patrickswell. The stillmess of the frosty morning only broken by the two guys on the field out barking orders/working the panel hard, while in the ally another bunch beating sliothers at great speed with county stars brian begley and ger hegerthy overseeing all.I asked one of the eagle eyed parents who was dunna, mulcahy, aherne, hannan( was in p. well with hartyteam),reidyand mark o connell, all fine athletes/hurlers.I left the ground feeling great, glad to see green shoots were on the way and that the limerick hurling phoenix may rise out of the ashes yet.

An Puc, It was good to read your positive post in the midst of all thats bad in Limerick hurling at the moment.
We should have a minor team that can compete this year, I have seen this panel play over the past few years as my young lads are in this age group and we have talent in all 4 divisons, lets hope they can gel into a good team.
