the managers have cut the squad from 60 to 40, have brought in professional coaches from kerry to do strenght and conditioning before they cut the squad to 27 after xmas, it seems to me they have the right attitude this year

I have no idea what Limerick.lad or GAA People are talking about. There is no minor panel presently in existence and I doubt if the panel meets before February at the earliest. Would love to know what the management and coaches are doing.
Understand that there is to be some sort of a divisional competition to help pick a panel. Great weather and conditions to be picking a minor panel. Hope the management keep up the good work of previous years.

to clear up any confusion, there is no panel in existence yet, what is happening the same as last year is that the divisional trials are on right now, teams are training and playing challenges ahead of playing each other, after that a county panel will be selected to train for winter and will be cut down after xmas.. i dont know where some people here get their information, posting up inaccurate info just leads to unjust criticisms and hysteria so i urge people to get it right first

East Under 17 hurling divisional team have had 2 challenge matches against Ard Scoil Ris last Saturday and Scarriff Community School today. Both games were held in Ahane. Seems to me that there is great effort being put in this year to put a minor team together early.

Just for the record this thread does not specify that it is solely concerning football. The second post lets us all know that Ger Hegarty is the manager of the minors. Well that is the Minor HURLING manager. My subsequent post concerned this squad, sure when did the minor footballers last win anything ?

most talent would be in the city ,some neat hurlers in the south... its a fact that the the west will be litterd with hurlers from adare, ballingarry and tour WITH clubs like feenagh, castlemahon, glantine ,ncw and monagea GiveN THE LONG FINGER!!!!!! Maybe this is one of the reasons why most west clubs are junior??

Patrick brislane from templeglantine will more than likely make the panel south along with Barry lynch from castlemahon, fine hurlers!
Just because these are the senior/intermediate clubs now doesn't mean they are littered with talent underage, far from it actually just like bruree this year former senior champs who could only field 11-a side team at 16 level and pulled out after 1 game!

A lot of the lads i know won't go and haven't in the past because the set up has been a joke in recent years!

are the kilmallock lads showing interest this year or are they still playing soccer no need to complain next april if there is no kilmallock players on the panel
