eastgael Cian Hayes is currently the second choice full back on the limerick team, and id say a certain starter for the u21 team this year... promising young player! utilityplayer (Limerick) - Posts: 61 - 30/03/2010 16:20:32 604177 Link 0 |

Lads i think he is only 19 so certainley still has a lot to learn but being on the county set up can only help improve him as a player and hopefully the 21s team will see the benifits. What are the underage set-ups picking all the way up along because if this is the first time he has played anyform of county hurling and it is at senior. It can't say much for the selectors up along. abbeyhurler (Limerick) - Posts: 29 - 31/03/2010 11:02:49 604893 Link 0 |
Don't think he will make the starting U21s team. He should be on the 21s panel alright. He should develope on and make the starting team next year maybe. The Fullback line will probaly be David Lynch,Sean Madden,Jason Hayes. Don't think Cian Hayes would get on ahead of any of these 3 but I could be wrong. We also have Seanie O Brien, Pat Begley,Philip O Loughlin(if available) and Riordan(Templeglantine) as other options in the FullBack line. brud (Limerick) - Posts: 943 - 31/03/2010 20:35:16 605828 Link 0 |

brud..sean madden is a centre forward.think getting him mixed up with his brother darragh. ur right anyway cian hayes wouldnt get on this team. however i wouldn have darragh madden at full back..lacks pace and gets turned easily. i would have mark deegan, david lynch and john riordan InMyOpinion2009 (Limerick) - Posts: 43 - 01/04/2010 14:00:34 606384 Link 0 |
If these lads are better than Cian, why aren't they the replacement full back on the senior panel? gregor (Limerick) - Posts: 8 - 01/04/2010 15:27:17 606513 Link 0 |
Inmyopinion2009- My mistake I meant his brother Daragh Madden(Ahane). I wouldn't have David Lynch Fullback. I would rather see him play corner back. His gained alot of experience at corner back in this League campaign so that should stand to him for the 21s. We have a problem at FullBack for the 21s no doubt. Maybe Pat Begley could fill in there. Its going to be very hard to pick that FullBack line with the exception of Lynch. In my opinion Lynch is pencilled in at No 2. Probaly a choice between Madden,Begley,Cian Hayes and Philip O Loughlin (played there in the u21 county final replay last year) for the No 3 jersey. Maybe Cian Hayes has the upper hand since his on the senior panel but I wouldn't have him starting personally. Its between Jason Hayes, Riordan and maybe Seanie O Brien at no.4. This is just my opinion and I could be a million miles wrong. Something has to be done anyway to sort out the Full Back Line. It was a mess last year against Clare. Alot of thought will have to go in to sort this area out and Leo O Conner will have alot of tough calls to make. brud (Limerick) - Posts: 943 - 01/04/2010 17:34:14 606700 Link 0 |
i heard that the county's second choice full back got a bit if a roasting for the u 21s in a practice game. 2-4 scored off of him? can anyone confirm this is true? therock3 (Limerick) - Posts: 12 - 15/04/2010 09:05:06 617880 Link 0 |
