Star hurleys are called star for a reason, head and shoulders above anyone else. torpeys arent too bad either, see a few tipp guys using them recently. avoid larkins they are not the best. O connors can be hit and miss. Never used scullion. but definately star hurleys are the best.

ps. leave your sticks hanging in the shed, i give mine a spray of the hose every so often if their looking a bit dry. avoid leaving in the boot of your car, they'l dry up in no time.

O'Kane hurls in Derry are lethal. they will take a mould and weigh your favorite hurl and replica it everytime you need new ones. absoulute class.

Hurleys in Cork tend to be a different shape to hurleys elsewhere. Anyway, a good hurley is what you like yourslef. I have no doubt that star hurleys, Mckeever's are all outstanding. We tend to buy from O'Connors, that is not being biased, it is just they are closest and make them the way our players want. I did try Scullions in Antrim once and thought that their service was first class.

Star hurleys. Run in and speak to Ramie and get your hurl and then pick up a bag of the finest chips in Ireland in Larkins chipper when I was a kid.

Here is an article from the Kilkenny people on Star hurls.

Hurls around the country differ. I always found Wexford hurls much heavier and thicker than Kilkenny hurls.

Im currently using a cronin stick, although ive a few scullion and falconer sticks in need of repair. All good sticks, as others have already said its all down to what your comfortable with, always liked a lighter stick myself!!

Patrique maybe you could shed a little light!! lol

Yeah its young albert now. He can be quiet selective about who he makes his hurls for, but I agree he shapes the ash well and they are well balanced also.
