Tyr08 Yes sorry the play-offs your correct but i expect them to pick up a point out of there last 2 games or feel teams below them will not pick the max needed.

Loughmacrory will certainly be gunning for promotion as shall Moortown. If Derrylaughan are beatin by Urney them they will also have to try to go up through the playoffs.

Under rule 6.22(5). (C) of the official guide no matter what the result of the final games Killeshil are down and Strabane and Aghaloo playoff and the loser goes down also; the winner will playoff with the playoff winner from top of Div 3. The top playoff will be decided after the championship result.

Answer

Then Strabane and Augher will both be on 10 pts and rule 6.22(5) (c) will be applied; the rule is:-

6.22 (5)(c) Where Teams finish with equal points for Qualification for the Concluding Stages, or for Promotion or Relegation, the tie shall be decided by the following means and in the order specified:
(i) W here two Teams only are involved - the outcome of the meeting of the two Teams in the previous game in the Competition;
(ii) Scoring Difference (subtracting the total Scores Against from total Scores For);
(iii) Highest Total Score For;
(iv) A Play-Off.

Therefore in the order specified (i) would apply and since Augher won their meeting in the league then Augher would be safe and Strabane would play Aghaloo in the playoff.
As I stated in my earlier post the outcome of the last game has no bearing (except home advantage) on the playoffs.

When did this ruling come in to place? I know stewartstown and killeshil both finished on 12 points last year, they played a play-off game to see who joined us in the relegation play-offs. I think there league encounter last year was a draw so that explains part i) of the ruling, but to my knowledge score difference had no bearing on who went into the play-offs.

True but i feel if they do go down they would go straight back up as there a div 2 team even though there our rivals.

you may have a point but they will still find it hard as players may lose interest and heart and not be dedicated enough to win division 3 some half descent teams down there as newtown showing and im sure killyman or stewartstown will show. as long as urney are safe and are in final thats all matters isnt that right ??

derrylaughan and moortown play each other, winners play winners of division 1 relegation playoff between aghyaran and kildress.

From what I seen of Stabane on Sunday lads they are going to struggle to stay up, for a team fighting for Div 2 status they were v.poor no bite about them whatsoever. In regards the play-off theres 4 teams go to the promotion play-off as it stands it would ourselves, loughmacoury, Derrylaughen, Moortown. Also like to wish Urney Good Luck on Sunday good club with a good set-up
