630894 Whats the craic with Strabane? They seem to be missing quite a number of players who would make a big difference to them. Is John McLaughlin, Warner Mullan, JP Gallagher, James O'Reilly, Ciaran Friel, Stephen Stewart, Richard O'Neill and Sean Arbuckle all not playing this year? I heard that one time Tyrone panellist Benny McGettigan is back living in the town after a few years in Boston where he was a mainstay of the McAnespies side, is he not playing ball this year either?

By all accounts some of these lined out on Sunday but didn't play!!!

why is it that some pomeroy people on this forum think that they are one of the wonders of the world, you think that you are unbeatable even only 3 games into season. wait until you play some bigger teams and we will be all waiting to hear the excuses come the monday.

Simple really, we know that player for player we are easily the best team in Division 2. With everyone fit we'd comfortably be a Division 1 team

have to agree there, Pomeroy do get very carried away they have done v.lttle in last few years to be considered one of the favourites. I do rate them as a strong intermediate team but championship winners bit of a stretch

Pomeroy have one big problem..... they may be as good as any other team in the division but they have no tradition or experience of winning anything much. It mayu not matter much when you are playing Strabane but when it comes to tight games clubs like Augher, Moortown, Eglish and Derrylaughan all have, within their ranks, experience of being at the very top.

hold on a minute ''BIG SACKS'', dont have the experience of winning anything much? we are 1 of 5 tyrone teams to reach an all ireland final in recent years, but suppose, that wouldn't count as much of an experience.

630500 great win for the rock at weekend, i think the 1 man team nonsense has been firmly put to bed now.. tell you what louch will struggle if they don't get there act together it was our worst performance of year. urney next week up there v.tough be happy with anything from that game. and 2 the dromore man stick to the div.1 forum yourman martin is midfeild for eglish and is suspended for getting sent off again us... and to sm your right about urney being tough place to go, but the netown ref mcnamee took our game at weekend and showed why hes a top referee best display weve had in rock for a long time

Very pleased with the way the team is playing at the minute. The squad seems very strong this year. Great to see big Connor McVeigh back again and he took his goal well on Sunday. Very impressed with how the team is performing without Ciaran Gourley and Martin McCreesh. Fowards are stepping up to the mark now without Martin. Optimistic by the possitive start to the season.

...surley that was BIG SACKS point -Pomeroy have a lack of experience of winning, you can collect runners-up medals all you want. Just incase u still dont understand heres a little definition :)
Winning >
(noun) act of a person or thing that wins.
(adjective) that wins; successful or victorious, as in a contest: the winning team.

just in response to this all i have to say is that you think player for player you are easily the best team in division 2 so your starting fifteen should be division 2 dream team?..... catch a grip.

Well we did win a County and Ulster title to get to the All-Ireland final. How many Division 2 teams have won an Intermediate Ulster title in recent years?

Re Pomeroy....

I forgot about Pomeroy's all ireland appearance.......

All I was saying is that within the Pomeroy club they have no tradition of winning at the top level eg O Neill Cups or senior leagues. In the other clubs I mentioned there are quite a few people within those club who have been there and done that. That kind of experience cant be bought.
