I would say if Rathkenny came out and admitted that they wouldnt accomadate Walterstown at the very start that Walterstown would play Duleek/Bellewstown.Or even find out why the game was fixed clearly knowing it didn't suit one team. That topic seems to be completly ignored

That quite simply is a matter for the CCC who fixed the game. It has nothing to do with Rathkenny GFC - (who accommodated the throw in being moved to 5pm)

Thats not really a realistic option!
Sounds like a pretty chilidish alternative really. Rathkenny won the game. End Off

I am just saying its strange that the game was fixed for that Sunday considering the CCC knew it didn't suit Walterstown. I know a couple people in Walterstown and they did not want to turn up that Sunday even at the 5pm throw in but were warned that they would of being thrown out if they didn't.

In truth I would say that if the game was the following week and Walterstown had lost they would never of objected and I think everyone knows that so they obviously felt extremely agrievd to take this as far as they did.

I can't beileve its gone as far as it has

But walterstown would do it, lose & object on the grounds that the extra round wasnt long enough!

I'd say the so called CCC would fix it so as the whole of walterstown was out the country.....

Jinxie: Look at the other options
1:Appeal on the same issue for a 3rd time and lose
2:Change the championship and cause war in the intermediate rank
My option
Get final clarity on why the game was fixed for when it was knowing what we know.Walterstown then play Duleek/Bellewstown and the loser goes down. Walterstown get what they wanted....The truth and Rathkennys win stands.

Owngoal,

I know your looking for a resolution alright, but I couldnt see the CCC or county board or even appeals commitee settling for something like that. Id image one of the clubs would kick up too.

Jinxie: I would say Walterstown would go for it if they got clarification over the whole thing...the managers and club captains should meet...no chairman etc...I bet if they meet it would be resolved

"Lets get ready to rumble......but not to stoke it up again. What happens if after 12 rounds. It's all square." Thats simple. They will have to fight for extra rounds. Then when the Rathkenny captain wins, Walterstown will object because they werent given written notice that extra rounds would be fought (and anyway they had asked for the fight to be postponed because their fighter was at a wedding). Then the county board will refer the matter to Croke Park, Croke Park will send it back to the county board and it will go back and forth until evryone is thoroughly sick of it. Eventually the county board will decide that the only fair thing is to allow 17 senior teams next year - like they should have done a month ago.

Is there actually any solid word coming out from the county board about what will happen?
I know theres alot of talk about no team going down, which is looking like the end result now, but have the co board actually said anything concrete on it?

My God, would the Players of Walterstown grow a pair and Go and Play Duleek in the Rel. Final. Stand up like men, take your beating and compete for Senior Status, what is it worth to ye if ye cant earn it the proper way. ON THE FIELD!!!!!!. Some legacy to leave behind.

IF THE WALTERSTOWN PLAYERS MADE A CALL LIKE THIS THEY WOULD EARN THE RESPECT OF EVERYONE IN MEATH GAA, instead of hiding and cowarding away from the whole thing. The Players have the power to do this. Lift yer heads and go for it, for fecks sake, its pathetic as it is.

they should put oldcastle up against duleek/bellewstown and the loser goes intermediate and just forget about the other game..... they will be the two worst teams in 2010 anyway, anyone can get to a league final so they cant be judged by that, prob good enough to beat oldcastle so that would send them back to intermediate and keep everyone happy

Anyone can get to a league final.......plenty of clubs trying hard for years and cant get near a final, you must be from one of the very successful clubs of which there are not many

Why bring Oldcastle into the equation. They won the Intermediate championship fair and square and should not be affected at all.
