takeyourpoints1 County: Meath Posts: 9 508682 Ye have to agree with kit, put them both down and play 3 groups of 5 next year. Both teams are poor . Simpily not up up to senior football. Rathkenny won 3 out of 11 games in division 2 leauge, which proves they cant even beat average intermidiate teams regulary. St michaels and Dunderry finished ahead of them in the leauge divsion 2. Hammered in the feis cup against a blackhall team with 3 or 4 second team players playing that day. Walterstown won four from eleven in the leauge. They exited the feis cup early aswell. Im not saying leauge results should relegate teams from championship, but just pointing out that your not up to senior football. Lads both teams would be better off going down and rebuilding, although i dont see much hope for that either as underage has been poor in both clubs for at least 8 years now. Rathkenny were decimated with injuries for Feis cup match and played alot of their Junior C panel in that game. Also they have been doing OK at Minor level for the past two years winning two out of three minor finals. Navan O'Mahonys were relegated from Division 1 this year winning only two games...I say throw them back down to Inter aswell, ...silly statement. For the past three years since becoming a Senior side Rathkenny were favourites to go back down, and on the field of play they remained Senior. What is wrong with rebuilding as a Senior team. there is plenty of talent coming through the ranks. R_Kenny (Meath) - Posts: 40 - 10/12/2009 11:50:08 509510 Link 0 |
I'm glad this is all over now...its very hard on Rathkenny but I suppose someone has to go down. Owngoal (Meath) - Posts: 44 - 10/12/2009 12:26:42 509543 Link 0 |
owngoal you may be glad to think its over, but its not The.Rock (Meath) - Posts: 582 - 10/12/2009 12:44:57 509571 Link 0 |
I don't know how you think its not over.....what grounds for an appeal.. Owngoal (Meath) - Posts: 44 - 10/12/2009 13:58:48 509655 Link 0 |
My God, would the Players of Walterstown grow a pair and Go and Play Duleek in the Rel. Final. Stand up like men, take your beating and compete for Senior Status, what is it worth to ye if ye cant earn it the proper way!!!!!!. IF THE WALTERSTOWN PLAYERS MADE A CALL LIKE THIS THEY WOULD EARN THE RESPECT OF EVERYONE IN MEATH GAA, instead of hiding and cowarding away from the whole thing. The Players have the power to do this. Lift yer heads and go for it, for fecks sake, its pathetic as it is. Alias (Tipperary) - Posts: 463 - 10/12/2009 14:29:13 509685 Link 0 |
Alias: I think you'll find the walterstown players were prepared to go into Navan and play Duleek/Bellewstown the night the game was fixed so I don't thonk its them that caused the problem. Same as it wasn't the Rathkenny players that caused the problem on their side. Owngoal (Meath) - Posts: 44 - 10/12/2009 15:20:28 509745 Link 0 |

A score difference of - 38 for Rathkenny in the championship group stages aswell. A simple way to solve this mess is to go on score difference. Put rathkenny down. sammaguire99 (Meath) - Posts: 45 - 10/12/2009 18:46:51 510022 Link 0 |

owngoal their grounds for appeal is they didnt lose a relegation play off, and your statement that walterstown were willing to play duleek/bellewstown is wrong, what stopped them from playing the game, could it have been THERE APPEAL to the rathkenny result, now i dont care who goes down or stay up and with a -38 points diffrence, i'd say it should be rathkenny but as thats not the way it happens, they beat walterstown fair and square, walterstown had no problem playing it in seneschalstown that night, and the fact they took the field for it should account for something The.Rock (Meath) - Posts: 582 - 10/12/2009 21:18:07 510219 Link 0 |

I agree lads...they won it fair and square but they should of sorted it out and not let it get to this...They have no chance of winning an appeal.Their only hope is that if the groups for next year are made bigger. Owngoal (Meath) - Posts: 44 - 11/12/2009 11:44:48 510639 Link 0 |
Walterstown have just got stuck in a slump. Its only 3 years since they were in a quarter final and were only team to beat wolfe tones on their way to the keegan senechalstown were a poor enough team until damien took them over i remember dunshaughlin bet them out the gate not so long ago. apart from the ultans game they only lost by couple of points in each game this year.
