Who will be relegated and when ?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Saga is over Rathkenny refused to play and therefore are disquailified from Competition and so Relegated.

Up to Hearings Committee, Leinster Council and the DRA now who should if there is any Rules at all in the GAA back the CCC who had to fix the game in the 1st place as that is what Croke Park ordered.

It was only a time of time Rathkenny would go down but pity it is this way.

Rules are Rules and all are not fair but some are not Fairer than others. If you know what I mean

Shame on you Walterstown

Sad to see Rathkenny go down but there better off in the Intermediate ranks anyway at least they wont be getting hammered everytime they step out onto the pitch. Any team that can only score a miserable average of 1-4 or 0-7 per championship deserves to go down.

I have to disagree Havoc - my gut feeling is that this saga is sadly far from being over.

Havoc, I dont know where u got that ridiculous information from but u are completly wrong. Rathkenny are far from being relegated at this time and wont be either. They wil fight until they get the result that they deserve which is staying up.

My Friend I am far from wrong gut feelings or otherwise what I have posted is fact and that is what will happen .

The only avenue open to Rathkenny now is getting a favourable decision from Meath Hearings [Unlikely] Leinster Council [Unlikely] as both already ruled in Walterstowns favour and with the loop hole.

DRA is probally the only hope they have and God only knows what they will decide as they are a law unto themselves and they opened the loop hole for the Galway club in the 1st place.

What I have said is far from Ridiculous but very true. Dont take it personal but as it is FACT

It is not my feeling

I still say shame on you Walterstown

i love all these FACTS, very amusing stuff, well ive a fact of my own, rathkenny will not be relegated, it seems this case will rumble on but they are very confident rathkenny will be senior next year, and maybe the good auld county board could play another part in this mess

I agree that this is a total mess with the top dogs on the county board to blame but I also agree with Havoc in that I don't see under what grounds Rathkenny can appeal. Croke Park have made their decision so there is no avenue to appeal to them and any case brought outside of the GAA the outcome is always the same as the one made by the GAA.
I don't blame either team because from what i've heard Walterstown feel extremely annoyed that Rathkenny did not accomadate them and play the game the following week and Rathkenny won the game on the night and that should stand. Personally I think Rathkenny should of accomadated Walterstown but I also think that Walterstown should not of appealed. Where will this end.....What wolfe Tones did was the worst of all anyway

OWNGOAL - stop bringing up this fixture issue, its complete rubbish. What has that got to do with consent to play extra time. That is the only issue in this farce so unless you have anythign to say about the actual issue in this appeal, your better saying nothing cos what your talking about is not on any commmitee agenda.

Firstly, Shame on Walterstown, very sad reflection and I think there will be a lot of very embarrassed footballers and supporters over there at the moment.
Secondly, Rathkenny not to blame as they won the game AET.

WALTERSTOWN SHOULD JUST GO AND PLAY DULEEK/BELLEWSTOWN. PLAY FAIR ON THE FIELD, AND STOP THIS WHINGING.

Yes Wolfe Tones undignified decision to appeal a Red card in ET was embarrassing also and reflects poorly on them also. They got their come-upence though.

14Forward: Firstly I said in my opinion I think Walterstown have a right to be annoyed when they were not accomedated. In relation to the appeal I said I did not agree with what Walterstown did but according to the Rule Book they are correct. Moral issues will not win any battle.

It's a sad mess and I don't think anyone can second guess the County Board. God only knows what's next in the saga. On a slightly different note relating to the Tones appeal, It now emerges from a reliable source that if the Tones had won the Keegan, Portlaois were objecting to Stephen Shepperd. It's believed they had the objection finalised and were just awaiting the result.

Alais: I agree that there will be a lot of embarresed footballers in walterstown at the minute but I also think that the powers that be at Rathkenny will be embarresed for trying to pull a fast one over them.

Portlaoise must be some clowns then because it was Corrigan not Sheppard and the leinster fixture was 4 weeks after the O Mahoneys match so his suspension would have up in any case

Drona, I mean't Stephen Corrigan and not Stephen Sheperd. Sorry for any confusion.
