This the way it will go rathkenny will refuse to play the CCC will award it to walterstown and then rathkenny will head to the DRA and if that does not work it will head for the courts unless walterstown back down which i think they will not .

That heading on the main page is incorrect," Rathkenny MAY boycott the rematch. " They are NOT playing full stop.

Well if the powers that be told the Meath County Board to plough on with the championship then Rathkenny better play the game or else they'll find themselves in Intermediate next year. If Rathkenny don't play and they lodge an objection or an appeal I can't see the Leinster Committee or anyone for that matter siding with them as the Meath County Board have been told to get the championship finished. Rathkenny should beat Walterstown and if they don't they will have a 2nd chance against Duleek/Bellewstown who aren't as good as their league form suggests. I think they have a better chance of staying up by playing football rather than going down the Legal road. Thats my opinion anyway.

walterstown be awarded the game. then rathkenny play duleek, dont show up again and they are relegated! obviously they will appeal etc along the way, end up in court or arbitration well into the new year!!

How can anyone think that Rathkenny should play the game, they stopped training two months ago and Walterstown have been still training since the first match and have had a few games since then in the league aswell. They would have an advantage this time round. But if Rathkenny were still training they would beat them again. Some Rathkenny players are refusing to play them again.

if rathkenny dont turn they are straight away relegated because it is a walk over that they are giving! this is the rule that is with every grade that if a walk over is given that team cannot compete or any other team below it in the championship.

This situation is a total farce at this stage and appears to be beyond any solution and has undoubtedly soured relations between two prominant Meath clubs for ever more, those responsible should be weeded out, and quickly.

Why did Rathkenny not start training again when they where first informed about the replay over 4 weeks ago. It's not as if they didn't know what was happining so they can't use that excuse.

Yeah its gone farcacle now.
Seems the county board are lacking real leadership in making a final decision on it. They seem to be waiting for everyone elses move & then looking to seek advice from others.

I hear the games off because Rathkenny are refusing to play. Does this mean that Walterstown get awarded the match. It is all a joke.

The relegation games should be held off until next March when everybody has had the same timeframe to prepare. If it's completed by the end of March there is still plenty of time to make the draws for the 2010 championships.
