Your dead right about meaningless games in the final round. You will have a scenario where team a beat team b in round 1, but lose to c, d, e ,& in round 5 when say, team f need a win to pip team b to get outta the group, they can go out half ***** an not put in the same effort, but thats totally unfair on team b, who had to play the same team only they were willing to play for a win.

What about going back to a knockout system and bring in a back door aswell, it would pull bigger crowds too
