Who will be relegated and when ?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Walterstown were in the relagation playoff in 2008 as well. Correct me if I'm wrong but they won the game after extra time. No objections from the Blacks then.

WTB your earlier comment about Sen'town being a poor team until Damo took over isn't quite true. The were an up and coming developing team when he took over. I player under Damo in his first terms as senior manager and we weren't too succesfull. Please Please let me know when Dunshaugling bet us out the gate.

Diego: Firstly the rule that walterstown appealed under was only introduced in 2009 so it they couldn't appeal last year
Secondly we all know the only reason Walterstown appealed was because Rathkenny didn't accom them and play the game the following week

Apparently Rathkenny are seeking advice from the DRA on their next step. It's all costing big money for a small rural club.

In my opinion Rathkenny should be relegated they are no good, they should stick to the soccer with Rathkenny Rovers.

My God, would the Players of Walterstown grow a pair and Go and Play Duleek in the Rel. Final. Stand up like men, take your beating and compete for Senior Status, what is it worth to ye if ye cant earn it the proper way. ON THE FIELD!!!!!!. Some legacy to leave behind.

IF THE WALTERSTOWN PLAYERS MADE A CALL LIKE THIS THEY WOULD EARN THE RESPECT OF EVERYONE IN MEATH GAA, instead of hiding and cowarding away from the whole thing. The Players have the power to do this. Lift yer heads and go for it, for fecks sake, its pathetic as it is.

Well?? Are they going to do it or what?

i would argue with that. Rathkenny are a poor outfit and a rappidly regressing. They wont last one more year at senior. Is it true D Kearns from Slane is going to them, if so they have a chance

whatever the outcome is i cant wait to see the day walterstown are relegated whenever that is as a neutral they have been the worst team in the championship this year and deserve to go down

No comments on this for near a month now but surely we must be near a decision as one will have to be made soon.

Reckon next Monday will be D-Day with 17 teams sanctioned to play in 2010 SFC and therefore 15 in IFC. No regulation either in 2010 as the feeling is for 18 teams in 3 groups of 6 in SFC with in time a similiar setup in the IFC.

This is the way to go as Rathkenny did nothing wrong and the Meath clubs know this and will not let anything else happen. Hopefully Rathkenny will not go to DRA and Meath will sort this out for themselves as going to the DRA will leave things open to chance along with costing money which as we know is not plentiful at the moment

I think the return of an 18 team (6 groups of 3) senior championship would be a step in the wrong direction and lead to more meaningless games that involve teams who have nothing to playing for in the later stages of the championship. Groups of 4 with each team getting 3 highly competitive games is the way to go in my opinion. If it is decalared at the start of the championship that there is no relegation this year, the championship could turn into a farce in the last couple of group games; with teams who cant make it through to the knock-out stages just rooling over and shipping a heavy defeat. The county board are responsible for this mess so they should sort it out instead of moving the goal posts to make life easier for themselves.
