county board lost appeal last night - what do rathkenny do now - what a disgrace, what happens on a pitch now does not seem to matter anymore, a pice of paper signed is more important than scoring goals and points. Clubs should decide what happens in a vote as its our championship

Congratulations kittooleshoes. It has only taken 8 posts to prove you are in fact, an idiot.

On topic- Are Rathkenny still training? Did they expect to lose the appeal.

Rathkenny stopped training about one month ago. THis whole thing is a sham.
What is the next step now seeing that the county board failed in their appeal?

goalswingames, rathkenny are not training and stopped after the walterstown, i dont know if they expected to lose the appeal but i was talking to some rathkenny men last week and they say they cannot play it and wont due to no training,

As one Rathkenny lad said to me last week refering to Walterstown, "If they want it that badly they can have it, Money talks". He went on to say we wont be fielding again. We beat them fair and sqaure on the pitch, we didn't cheat in any way, we didn't break any rules so why should we have to play again because some officials in the CCC didn't follow the rules. It's not that they didn't get any notice as a directive was sent out by Croke Park in the Spring regarding extra time

I know for a fact that the two teams are indeed training and getting ready for next years intermediate championship,il stop talking like a five year old when rathkenny stop playing like 5 year olds chasing after the ball

Diego it's not like Rathkenny don't know anyone in the county board! Not sure what money has to do with anything. Probably more to do with Fixtures committee.

I cannot see any relegation games until after xmas at least. Rathkenny are not training because their season is over like most of the clubs in the county. This CCC problem should not have arisen, but Walterstown played every minute of the extra time on the day without complaint, so they not Rathkenny should be contesting the relegation final. I hear on the grapevine that Rathkenny will not replay this match, and Waltertown feel vindicated by their successfull appeal so the onus is on the CCC to sort out the mess.

Rathkenny should not have to replay this game, as they didnt break any rules, and they have earned the right to stay senior on the playing field. I think from a legal point of view walterstown cant be relegated without a rematch either. I think the only solution is to not have relegation from senior this year. This has happened before for a number of years in the 90s there was no relegation from senior at all.

nobody will be relegated - to put simply, rathkenny wont play as they won a game on the day when both teams consented by playing out the full game. Waltersown have found a loop hole and dont want to accept defeat so they have found a way out and now are back by croke park. Duleek have to play one of these team and cant until the first is resolved whihc it will not be so in the end - will anyone go down - so much has been messed up its seems sad the rathkenny are the only ones who are being made do anything is all this appeal buisness and they have not appealed on anything and won the games they they were fixed to play

kittooleshoes County: Meath Posts: 10 470856 I know for a fact that the two teams are indeed training and getting ready for next years intermediate championship,il stop talking like a five year old when rathkenny stop playing like 5 year olds chasing after the ball this is a complete load of crap, in fact i'm been too hard on 5 year olds, i'll give you 2 facts Rathkenny are not training and have not trained since the thursday before the walterstown match and fact no.2 walterstown have barely been training all year, in fact most of their players actually had to be nearly begged to go training, rathkenny might not be the greatest senior football team in the county ever , but at least they show commitment in going training and in the their matches and if walterstown had half their commitment they would'nt be trying to get out of this with some stupid and sad excuse

The.Rock What exactly would you know about walterstown training and who are you to pass judgement on them as a team. I know for a fact that they are extremely committed bunch of guys and i'm in no doubt that there fully behind the cause. There reasoms for appeal are simply its all about survival and i'm sure that had rathkenny lost they to would appeal . The question I would ask is why did the county board not have this whole mess sorted out long ago! Its duleek i feel for in all this mess.

I cant see why either team want to stay senior they were both very poor this year and I cant see them being any better next year...would they not rather play Intermediate football and make it to the knock-out stages instead of trying to win one or two matches to stay senior? Unless Walterstown get a complete change of attitude and Rathkenny import a few players they will both struggle again...and staying senior will be pointless.

blackbeauty. 1st off rathkenny would not have appealed im sure of that, i was told by friends in walterstown but you can tell me im wrong seen as you know '' they are a extremely commited bunch of players'', that im wrong then to say certain players had to be rang to go training to show interest to the younger players and that a former player was asked to help out at training on the presumption that these lads would turn up, but that didnt even work, your right with your paragraph the appeal is all about survival, but its a pity walterstown who still could have survived if they had beat duleek/bellewstown decided if they couldnt beat rathkenny, what hope had they in the next match, so they appealed, as i dont think anybody will be relegated next years championship will be very interesting to see if walterstown have learned from this and will surely not want to be in this position next year but with their ''extremely commited bunch of players fully behind the cause'' im convinced they surely wont be.

Does anyone know how this officially stands? Even if Rathkenny are refusing to play the county board would still have to fix the match and give a walkover if they dont show?

Id say Walterstown will win the replay,it will be tough on rathkenny to pull it off again. Any word on the date?
