all time galways best hurling goalie is john cummins

Commins was definitely the best we've had in the last 25 years or so, but I think a lot of old-timers would say that Seanie Duggan from the fifties era was the greatest ever.

468791 Cavan had a great goalie in the mid 90's, young fella, can't remember his name, surname was King maybe, not sure

Paul O'Dowd, Best goalkeeper we ever had.

Yep, I got slated for including him in my team of the nineties but I've never seen a better shotstopper!

The Sage County: Monaghan Posts: 214 469248 On the subject of great Goalkeepers... Given that our Dublin friends (players & supporters alike) get so much abuse on here, it is worth noting the extraordinarily high standard of Dublin's net minders over the last 35 years or so (which is all I can comment on) In Paddy Cullen, John O'Leary and Stephen Cluxton, they have produced 3 goalkeepers who would be ranked with and probably ahead of the best from any county over that or any period, and as far as I can recall (and I'm open to correction as always) these 3, along with 1 other (by the name of Byrne for a couple of years only) have represented the county in that position in championship football for that entire time. Again an outstanding achievement by any standards. There is no doubt that the Dubs have had deficiencies in other department that has prevented them wining more AIs but why so strong in the goalkeeping department. Your spot on their lad. we really have been blessed with Class Goalies!

Patrique: However the BEST I ever saw was Noel Skehan. Unbelievable.
________________
Is debatable, I agree with you to a point, however my personnel view is he did have a big advantage over the current flock of goalkeepers. Their didn't seem to be any limit on the Hurly Boss size for a number of years when he was prominent. His were like 'tennis rackets'. Never the less he had good reflexes.

Heard my father and mother talk about Reddan in hushed tones... revered by them.

Saw Ollie Walsh and Skehan, for me Skehan as the best regardless of the size of the bas!
In the football, Stephen Cluxton i believe is superb, the best.
