Alot of rumours about this. What's the view in the Augher and Clogher?

Surely Augher dont need to join with another team at youth level? They have had some good youth teams recently. Clogher on the other hand could benefit from this.

i think that both clubs have a few good players and would be good to see them line out on a strong parish side !

Is the problem with the numbers going through your primary schools?
I know the numbers are low, but didn`t think it was a cause of concern.
Are there too many schools in Clogher say?
Maybe too many girls.
Pity, i would say there would be strong opposition to this from a few.

In this past two years at minor and u16 Clogher have won one game, and havent even fielded in more than half the games. This years u16s Clogher feilded in only 3 games, hammered in them all. Augher feilded in all games but playing lads of 12 or 13 in most games, they got one point out of all there games and this was because the game was abandoned due to a injured player. Clogher has one school, 70 pupils, Augher has 2 scjools about 100 in total. But at the end of the day its all one parish, few people in both clubs are disagreeing, but if they would rather see the lads of 16-18 in there clubs not play youth football than play with there neighbours across the road, well so be it but these people have a serious proplem...

yes kildress wt Augher have a good team but they don't have a big panel, and if any of there players were to get injured they don't have the strength and depth in their squad as the the likes of carmen, errigle, and yourselves.

Not good figures there.
It seems it would be a benifit to both teams,
due to the fact that a full program can be completed
and be more conpetitive.
Hope all works out for yous down there.

Figures are not on our side anyway watching, it will benefit Clogher at the older age groups but at the younger ones Augher will benefit more. The county board have already said they are in agreement and if the two clubs can agree then its go. So its now down it the hardcore diehards to swallow there pride and allow the youth to have one team competing for honours.

It's not just neighbours against neighbours, in many cases it's cousins playing against cousins. In one instance it's brother against brother. It is a bit silly really!

if the 2 clubs unite it will be a tough job for the manager not to be precieved as being biased?

It would be good for both clubs. if they joined, in under 16s for example they would have the og sport winners in clogher and some strong, talented footballers from augher. clogher may have the capabilities to win 9 a sides but its on the full length pitch that they struggle. with clogher and augher combined, it would leave the youth of both clubs guaranteed youth football for years to come. im in support of the amalgamation and i hope it happens.
