I can't think of any really strange club name in Galway. The county with the best collection of odd club names has to be Wexford: Starlights, Buffers Alley, Horsewood, Raparees, Faythe Harriers, Shelmaliers, and Oulart-the-Ballagh come to mind. Take a look at this link here. There are some awesome names for early GAA clubs in Cavan. Unfortunately a lot of them have fallen by the wayside over the years as they came to gether with other clubs. But Finea Knights of Freedom and Bawnboy Gallowglasses are great names. This thread has also been covered before, check the link here Loughduff Lad (Cavan) - Posts: 2480 - 15/10/2009 10:37:31 455119 Link 0 |

Mount Sion always struck me as an odd name, sounds like an old biblical mountain Moses might have climbed. Maybe im making the link with Mount Sinai or however you spell it. bosch (Derry) - Posts: 873 - 15/10/2009 15:03:06 455424 Link 0 |
I would love if Nicker in Co. Limerick had a GAA team. Would go very well with some of the earlier ones!! ExilEd1014 (Mayo) - Posts: 280 - 16/10/2009 17:10:21 456615 Link 0 |
