453979 With Ballyboden dethroning the current All Ireland champions can we predict a dominance of Football in Leinster and possibly farther afield for St.Enda's? Their Senior team is obviously very strong and the future must be very bright also. I attended this years Feile nA nOg in Kildare and was very impressed with their Under 14's in their march to victory. Are Ballyboden the next big thing on the All Ireland club scene for the foreseeable future?

Well it does'nt Ballybode well for them now.......Turfed out of the Hurling and Football in the space of a week.

Ehh.. no chance! Crossmaglen have a team with a great reputation based on being one of the top sides in the country consistently over time.

In answer to the question, No. Not in the short term or the long term either. In fact you will go a long time before you see the equal of Cross at club level from any county. They were simply the best.

Ehh, to answer all your questions:

Cross may be club football kingpins in recent "history" but maybe 'Boden could be the new Cross if they concentrated on one code only!!

.....ye all seem to conveniently forget who the Dublin Senior Hurling Champions are!!......'Boden! (three years on the trot!).

Show me a Cross man who even knows what a hurley is!!

'Boden might not have the history that Cross have on the football pitch but when it comes to 'CLUB' prowess no club in the country comes close to 'Boden!!

Senior 'DUAL' champions! and DUAL players!.....read it and weep!! Crossmaglen are one code wonders!

Even the ladies are fanatical!

Dell,

You know when it comes to making a comment on any of my posts you don't seem to be doing it with a jokey demeanor. I can't get my head around it at all.

Crossmaglen are one code wonders!

The above statement is a lie and an insult to all the volunteers who devote their time every week to promote our games.

I've watched quite alot of dublin championship this year and ballyboden are a good team with a good work ethic and a few really good performers at club level(no really classy players though). Can't see them winning dublin again next year though but they have a good catchment area and southside football seems to be stronger than northside at the moment-they'll contest some more finals in the next 6 or 7 years. Lucan sarsfields would be my own prediction for next year or possibly Plunketts. Crossmaglen's achievement will never be repeated. Congrats to garrycastle and tubberclair for flying the flag for my own county.
