Amalgamation of parish teams.

well if its good enough in kerry,cork, it good enough for the weaker counties like offaly ( did you ever think that the reason why these counties are successful???).

example: kerry: glenbeigh/glencar are a junior a club, they play in the junior a champ,(club champ). for the county champ there best players play for south kerry.

year 1: glenbeigh/glencar win the junior a (still play for south kerry}

year 2:glenbeigh/glencar win the inter (still play for south kerry}

year 3: glenbeigh/glencar play senior (NOT WITH SOUTH KERRY}

see this where this system works really well, club football stays really important, but all players are challeged, inter club transfers are unhear of, as every player has the chance to player senior fotball.

county teams are better as good players as the standard for football in the county is higher.

people will come up with every reason not 2 try it, but if we keep doing the same things year after, then the same problems will be there year after year.

curious george you have rambled on ,and on ,and on,and on.but you still havent answerd how come shamrocks are able to do it.your banging on about finances and a whole heap of excuses.your full of them.offaly dude and other forward thinkers, i think we are wasting our time with curious george cause he obviously just doesnt have what it takes to helping progress offaly football and hurling.im afraid we may leave him behind.

Best of luck Blue Bob and the Dud, I look forward to yer glowing success and the return to glory of the Offaly Senior teams. By the way Blue, with all your concern bout everyone else, how many players have the great town provided for the Senior County teams this year? 1? Yes, you have all the answers.

And actually, I did answer indirectly re Shamrocks. They can have a parish team because they disbanded Mucklagh and Carthages, ( a suggestion I gave in earlier threads as an example).

Anyway, you bate away with your band of merry men!

Liffo, only making a point in regard to the topic, and where do you see my "ongoing bitterness" agin the Town?
Delighted they won, although would have had a few connections with KK, and wish Kevin Martin every success with Westmeath. He'll have a battle with Clonkill first!

Another senior player to add his backing to parish teams, Vinny Claffey has come out in favour of them in his interview on Edenderry GAA website. Excellent interview by the way by an absolute legend.

another great read, what you expect from a half rhode man doing asking the questions..... ah no, in all seriousness, a great website in fairness to him and the club.

The Edenderry gaa website is excellent. Just like to wish the juniors hurlers best of luck in the club championship. The team consists of Croghan, Rhode, Ballyfore and Edenderry players.
