our county board meetings are a waste of time, as you can all judge by thier reaction to this

I imagine they are fuming because basically Carr was right. If he wasn't, why the fuss?

I remember him from 1996 against Tyrone.

What an embarrassing effort from our inept county board. A tongue in cheek joke from Ross Carr which nobody thought anything of and they are making a big deal out of it. All they are doing is giving air to something that died a death long ago and actually causing more embarrassment to a member of the team of the millennium than the joke did.
Just goes to show how far out of touch county boards are from the real world.

Even as a Cavan man, I must say Martin O'Connell was an exceptional footballer and looking at the footage I'm sure he took it as a joke, much like Ross' managerial career! Martin was truely the last real hard man in gaelic football but you just don't get into the team of the millenium for that, he was skillful, strong and very few players ever got the better of him!

i dont know what the meath county board expect to achieve by complaining. maybe they think clubs in meath will think more of them if they make an issue out of these remarks? i dont hink so, they are being very petty about it. if anything it makes them look even more inept. ross carrs comments were simple harmless slagging. the county board should be ashamed of them selves, have they no sense of humour

I think Martin has shown his true charachter with his response in the papers where he laughed it off as a joke. He played golf with Carr a few days after the programme. It's the county board who are making an issue of it and we all know in Meath that they are known to mess things up. No Meath poster has had any other view other than this was just a joke taken in good humour so those of you who see this as a chance for a go at Meath posters then LAY OFF. Such comments about Tyrone 96, can't get over the hammering, Meath Whingers etc etc are uncalled for.

F.T.Q. what are you on about, ye didnt 'hand down' anything never mind humiliate us, ye beat us, thats just that, i for one was very proud of the lads that year after all the matches and replays they played to get there, and who knows what would have happened if colm o'rourke was brought on a few mins earlier. you should take a look at where down football has gone since then before you use the word humiliate
