Shamgael you are mighty craic. Tell us why are Coa called the Benny Hill team? SkeaLad (Fermanagh) - Posts: 513 - 14/10/2009 23:45:54 454949 Link 0 |
IrvinestownGael tell me this when was the last time your club won anything? At least Kinawley has been bringing back silverware nearly every year unlike Irvinestown or indeed our neighbouring clubs for that matter. cillnaile. (Fermanagh) - Posts: 1007 - 15/10/2009 11:37:08 455195 Link 0 |
Well SkeaLad I can see why you might ask. Coa are not quite sure themselves. However, their comparison to Benny Hill and his team reflected the early years of the reformed Coa O'Dwyer's club (and some say still does) when their players weren't sure what to do and meandered after their captain through the pitch. It was comical and resembled the common running gag in Benny Hill's shows in the closing sequence according to the online encyclopedia, Wikipedia, which states it was literally a "running gag" in that it featured Benny Hill and other male characters lecherously chasing scantily clad female characters, who would usually end up turning the tables and chasing Benny. So it was with Coa. But who cares? lrvinestownGael (Fermanagh) - Posts: 847 - 15/10/2009 13:47:37 455344 Link 0 |

Donagh has made a big mistake outing the fact that Little may be going to them. Therefore Newtown will double their efforts in order to dump St Pats into their rightful division two placing! SkeaLad (Fermanagh) - Posts: 513 - 15/10/2009 17:51:47 455655 Link 0 |

How convenient it is for some of the hillbillies to be absent or injuried for Sunday's final round of the league. I wonder why? cillnaile. (Fermanagh) - Posts: 1007 - 16/10/2009 11:05:10 456279 Link 0 |
typical cillnaile response to division 1 football (of which he has distant memories) Teemore will be the team to step up to the plate and dump the Gaels down!! howshecuttin08 (Fermanagh) - Posts: 207 - 16/10/2009 11:18:36 456294 Link 0 |

it is up to teemore who they put out on the field on sunday. if they have players injured they are not gonna risk them when they are already in the semi final. would any other club risk them? they owe no one any favours and im sure whoever is playing will do their best. every clubs future is in there own hands so it should not come down to one team to save other teams. as for kinawley coa. irvinestown and skea people commenting on first division matters, do so when you's are in the first divison not languishing in the second/third! any word on which teemore players are suppose to be missing? player3 (Fermanagh) - Posts: 36 - 17/10/2009 12:47:41 457144 Link 0 |
howshecuttin08 how is it that your players were told at training to take it easy on Sunday? cillnaile. (Fermanagh) - Posts: 1007 - 17/10/2009 17:11:07 457258 Link 0 |
