its funny how some posters from the six counties constantly harp on about those in the south being partitionist and yet use terms like free state and free staters. beyond moronic bad.monkey (USA) - Posts: 4649 - 13/10/2009 19:34:58 453444 Link 0 |

works both ways hipster. a lot of people call them nordies in the free part of ireland. the ones in the 6 call us freestaters. both are wrong as they both acknowledge partition. neither are racist or offensive 32_4_1 (Meath) - Posts: 4134 - 14/10/2009 15:24:59 454311 Link 0 |

Paddy the only time you post is when you can bring politics into it. RoverTin (Derry) - Posts: 228 - 14/10/2009 17:08:37 454481 Link 0 |
I don't think that the term free state is always used in a derogatory fashion. It's nearly always just a turn of phrase i.e I was down in the free state or shortened to the state. To be fair it can also be used as a bit of an insult but more when saying free staters. That's usually insulting. northpole (Derry) - Posts: 739 - 14/10/2009 17:32:51 454509 Link 0 |
I never heard such nonsense as what that Roscommon buffoon said. As for all this 'nordie/free stater' carry on, will you all just chillax. The GAA is a 32 county organisation - a non-sectarian, non-racist organisation. Crossmaglen rangers had a goddamn military helicopter pad on their pitch and still became one of the best sides in country, money or no money. Paddy-"There is Sport and then there is Politics. Your point above is the latter. The sooner you Nordies learn to differentiation between the two the better" TheGlensman (Antrim) - Posts: 123 - 14/10/2009 17:42:30 454528 Link 0 |
Am I correct in saying that roscommon board had debts somewhere in the region of over 1 million euro a few years ago. Maybe any funding available to roscommon is withheld because they would squander it. They certainly dont seem to direct it towards shane curran and his friends as reflected in their results. Sorry, the whole of Roscommon shouldnt be held accountable for this mans attempt at being controversial. pucall (Tyrone) - Posts: 8 - 15/10/2009 21:00:05 455832 Link 0 |
