450841 OK fair enough here's my proposal to those saying "let's have a level playing field".

You take ALL the Unionist bigotry, Loyalists, the British Army, the PSNI/RUC, British intelligence and Security services, murders, threats, intimidation, pipe bombs on clubhouses, glass in pitches, attacks on club & supporters buses, number of GAA pitches in Belfast AND we'll give you the Northern grant money. Is that not a decent solution?

you can keep the queens shilling

Its a bit like the logic of Kerry having an easy run through Munster making it easier to win All Irelands. This logic should have also applied to the Antrim hurlers but (despite Patrique's protestations of greatness in the glens) I am afraid not....

Heavens Big Sacks, you do me a GROSS disservice.

Me, praising THE GLENS. I think not. Shouldn't have ANY of them near the county team.

Now you might begin to understand the DEEP division in Antrim. LOL

As Martin McGuinness said "I was trying to get the army out of Ireland, the current dissidents are trying to get them in"

People like Ulsterman who insist on saying "PSNI/RUC" are the biggest threat to the GAA in the North.

You have little to fear from Unionists unless Ulsterman and his cohorts stir them up.

and I suppose ALL the violence, murder and intimidation that comes with being a Northern Gael too Davy. Go out and learn a bit about your country, the entire country, and the GAA while you are at it. European money, including large contributions from the UK Exchequer, have built ALL the infrastructure in the South these past 15 years and big deal. The EU ensured that countries like Ireland would reap the full benefits of EU membership but many people in the South have forgotten that. Without EU money Ireland would still have 3rd world amenities but you don't want to face that. You and your fellow travellers and ilk are obsesseed with getting as many nasty insults as possible in about the North. It is symptomatic of a corrupt country that has lost it's soul and heart.

This comment and this thread shows exactly why so many in the southern media hate Tyrone in the raws terms.
The article should not have been printed by the newspaper and this thread should not have been started by Admin, it is bordering on pure hatred, mind boggling!
But you know what we are used to pure raw hatred and we will accept it and go on to win more all-irelands

Tyrone won their all-irelands becasue everyone else was no where near as good end of story!

Tyrone are the best team in the country at present all-ireland winners or not! We have the best players, best management, best supporters and alot of people are very jealous of this and are jealous of they way we won or all-irelands are very jealous that we are gonna win a whole lot more in the years to come and will use attempt any slur no matter how stupid it makes them look or untruthful it is to take away from it

450829 Enough of this rubbish. The bottom line is that the reason why Ulster counties have been so successful in recent times is because they are better than the rest of us. ENOUGH SAID.

I hate to agree with an Offaly man but yes this is rubbish. If funding is there you grab it. I hope the hurling improves in Ulster too so we will have a better hurling championship. People forget the hard times GAA people suffered up there and now they have success so fair play to them.

Think I will jump in here too, mr curran states that the success of NORTHERN teams is less about ability and more about money. Well mr curran I would say that all of your success is done to your ability, or lack of. Excellent coment though to get people talking about you. Take what you can get I reckon

I think this whole issue could be closed with the following quote from Plato- Mr. Curran take note: 'Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something.'

"Mans mentality must be small if he writes his name on a toilet wall" That sum's up the author for me. Shame really that an journalist would stoop so low. What ever happened a little humility.
