Shane Casey - I remember him - he was a serious talent. Massive loss to Eire Og, would probably be their full or centre back now. Naas have one or two lads that will make it as well, future could be bright for the Co. Team, especially if the likes of Darmody, Moloney (bros), Tom Byrne, Tony Murphy, etc. stay around long enough. There is another lad from Eire Og, he must be 6ft 5 ... something O'Connor I think.

yea he's only minor as well as far as i know. I think the key also to kildare co. team is to make sure the best players within the county are playin for kildare. there've been times in the past where some of the top players did not play county hurling for various reasons.

Yeah Kev O Connor he's minor again next year. Some hurler, uses his height brilliantly. Best under age hurlers around at the minute have to be Conor Kenny and Martin Fitzgearld. Surprised Celbridge beat Coill Dubh on the day, really though Coill Dubh had the better hurlers..

I thought the final was terrible. Completly dead.

The standard itself was quit good, some great scores, great free-taking from both teams too...thought the county players were no quit what I expected, moloney's and murphy especially. Tom Byrne got the better of D Mol again and Conor Kenny was again Cel's best forward probably. No1 stood out for me bar Kenny but he wasnt under too much pressure. McAndrew looked very sharp as too did the Éana lad.

But literally no atmosphere. Nothing. It did not seem like a final, I was sitting in the big stand and it didnt even seem anyway full??

Is there a lack of interest? The football with larries and Cel the previous day was miles ahead and it only a semi?
I suppose this is just the way it is but not many people even stayed for the speech?!

If anyone did stay for the after match speech I heard that Tony Murphy gave a master speech all in Irish . The Leinster Intermediate championship Senior teams from Westmeath & Kildare have done well over recent years. Carlows Mount Leinster Rangers are a serious out fit with 12 of the county Panel on board and are fancied to do well . Lt Lactains ( Michael Kavanaghs club ) of KK beat a good team form Wexford in the first round and host Carnew Emmets at home in next round. This is the one competition that KK teams do not dominate. So good luck to all teams involved and keep it a cat free zone
