all this back and forward between the town and kilcoo is pretty pointless, the town have nothing on their side in this arguement, in recent years their club has gone to the dogs, and its all been their own doing! i hear people on this thing saying that not everyone is lucky enough to live in kilcoo and the bridge etc, but lets be honest kilcoo seniors do not have any real stand out players they work hard for each other and their club, they were sick of being laughed at down in the depths of division 3 and they started a youth system, to teach the young ones a type of football that is different to the rest of the county that they play so well! that is what kick started their rise to success in down, now look at them their top dogs in down, and have completely dominated the youth seen in the last number of years! castlewellan are just sick because kilcoo have shown real grit as a footballing comunity to rise up the divisions and kick the town off their high horse! and now that kilcoo are at their best they have ever been and castlewellan are holding on to the edge of the division one clif for dear life, but i know a lot of clubs in the top flight would love to come along and stand on their fingers! castlewellan are not liked generally because of the way they conduct themselves as a club, but we can have nothing but admiration for kilcoo for what they have done, they grabed their club by the scruf of the neck and dragged themselves to the top of the pile in down and the rest of the clubs in down should take a leaf out of their book, especially the town! glenn are starting to do the samething they are developing their youth teams and they will be a club to watch in the future! they have seen how it can be done by kilcoo and they are giving it a spirted effort! and if i was a town man i would be more worried about the likes of glenn because they will be you biggest rivals in the next few years, and if i was a kilcoo man i wouldn't pay any attention to the town antics they are seriously jealous, it is plain for all to see!

All the best to Kilcoo minors tomorrow - it would be some achievement to become Ulster Champions.

The have been building for years for this since winning the Feile a few years back and before this.

A massive effort has been made to date and a win is well deserved.

They lost by a point after extra time. Was a decent game, conditions ruined the quality. Darragh O'Hanlon was immense and Cillian Laverty and nathan smyth were also impressive.

Bad luck lads, you are a credit to your club.

With these lads coming through to add to the current senior squad Kilcoo could go on to dominate Down football for years.

Its up to the rest of us now to match the standards they are setting.
