cillcuagal the ever green mr mccarten has 2 all ireland medals, not to mention he is the greatest midfielder ever to wear a down shirt. i think he deserved to do what ever he wants to do now that his playing days are cuming to an end. ps still destroyed kilcoo this year no matter his age manabouttown11 (Down) - Posts: 2 - 17/11/2009 13:39:57 486099 Link 0 |
bighairballs i just seen your comment about cwellan players wouldnt say anything to kilcoo players faces! y wud that be? cause of the sheer physical size of most of the kilcoo players? can be that as most of them wouldnt get on a fair ground ride. i remember watching with my own eyes 2 of the supposably hard men on the kilcoo team jumping a current cwellan player on a night out. the cwellan player told his own m8s that he wanted to handle it himself, to cut a long story short, by the end of it 1 kilcoo player had run away and the other was lying on the ground physically crying his eyes out saying how sorri he was. dnt make me laugh cwellan players afraid of kilcoo. i agree wit cwellan7 i hate kilcoo with a passion and if the shoe was on the other foot kilcoo players would be doing the same as town players. as for people writing cwellan off please keep it up.you will only help to inspire us and you's will eat your own words over next few years thats a fact. manabouttown11 (Down) - Posts: 2 - 17/11/2009 13:54:36 486113 Link 0 |

Im no a kilcoo man but Im 100 % certain that castlewellan would not dream of mixing it with kilcoo fellas. Hate_cwellan (Down) - Posts: 11 - 17/11/2009 15:06:19 486207 Link 0 |
i would just like to change a bit of detail from my last post, i said that it was not someone from kilcoo that threw a bottle but i had been misinformed, i would just like to say i like many other kilcoo people know of this person and am deeply shocked by their actions, see what it starts! cillchuaabu (Down) - Posts: 115 - 17/11/2009 17:16:40 486374 Link 0 |

manabouttown11 your perception of size isn't that good is it, the stereotype of kilcoo teams being small is just that, maybe at underage they are quite small but there seniors( bar lavery and their captain, mcevoy) they are one of the biggest, and most physical teams in the county, they have at least one man in every line 6ft or more, apart from there fullfoward line, but i do believe anthony devlin plays fullfoward for them and if you know your county football(which i doubt) you would know he is an animal! i seen them play against my own club this year and they were no small team! as for your wee fairytale even if it did happen(unlikely) it has nothing to do with gealic football and this is a gealic football forum, but then a castlewellan man wouldnt really have much to talk about on one of those, i've seen the town play this year and how they escaped the jaws of relagation i dont know but i do know, the teeth will be sharpend for next year and castlewellan will be first on the menu! and you expect that to win a championship! laugh! bigbairyhalls (Down) - Posts: 63 - 17/11/2009 18:27:31 486466 Link 0 |
Mr Controversial, I thought you were from Loughinisland? If so what were you doing in Casement Park when we had a game in Ballymartin at same time? blu (Down) - Posts: 1240 - 17/11/2009 18:56:09 486499 Link 0 |
the word must be getting round castlewellan that you's are getting stick' i see some new members with very little to talk about (fighting)how sad!!!!!who was the 'great mc cartan' playing for when he won the 2 medals??i was at the return leg of that match against kilcoo in the medow, poor team poor attitude, where was the great county man(duffin)that day?standing at the goal post talking to an umpire, did he think he was back in brewster park taking it easy??i know for one any man not fit to play in our club would be in the duggout willing his team mates on,this is the best prospect your club has and he doesn't care, maybe he was thinking ahead in fear of the roasting he would've got?????BRYANSFORD GAEL gaa.egghead (Down) - Posts: 35 - 17/11/2009 22:37:05 486793 Link 0 |
id say kilcoo will be bcak next year, they play a different type of football to most down teams plus they have the hunger to get back in numbers and tackle. glenn_abu (Down) - Posts: 515 - 18/11/2009 12:45:18 487176 Link 0 |
admin, why did ya not put in the part about lavertys flick through their full backs legs?? all i asked did anyone see it? and that it was quality because he set up the point. glenn_abu (Down) - Posts: 515 - 18/11/2009 15:47:04 487443 Link 0 |

Gaa.eggman u have no right at all to come on here and single out on person like that. Who cares what a player from your club would do? And just because Kevin wasn't in the dugouts means that he doesn't care about the club? Catch a grip. I have cone on this site and said that i don't like Kilcoo however I would never single out one player like you have there. A county player none the less. You need to take a look at yourself because it is one thing to talk about a club, but to actually single out individuals is pathetic. You are a complete disgrace Cwellan7 (Down) - Posts: 15 - 19/11/2009 04:35:56 487997 Link 0 |
i had to single him out he's the only castlewellan man i know on your team!he's the man younger players would look up to at the minute, right or wrong??once you've realised i'm right, you will then realise where he should've been, showing an example, after all it was your BIG RIVALS.just a quick question.what is your original club????? gaa.egghead (Down) - Posts: 35 - 19/11/2009 18:47:57 488747 Link 0 |
gaa.egghead, love your sence of humour with your last question. I'm sure 'The Meadow' must be in some state after all the rain considering it was unplayable in the middle of the summer! stray (Down) - Posts: 47 - 20/11/2009 09:18:48 489163 Link 0 |
gaa egghead your from bryansford and the only player from cwellan you know is kevin duffin. i dont think so. that is def a lie, or else maybe your not reli a gael and only on this forum to wind people up. if you reli are a bryansford gael you would def know more that 1 cwellan player. kevin wasnt playing in that game because he had ingrowing toe nials removed a few days before the game, kevin played half the season with this problem and it got to the stage where he was in that much pain after every game he had to have them removed. any player will tell u playing in the derby games are the best games of the year and kevin has never shyed away from any game he was fit to play in. cwellantillidie (Down) - Posts: 127 - 20/11/2009 12:03:36 489278 Link 0 |
in kevin's defense he played against kilcoo in kilcoo eariler in the year and played his heart out. can i ask why castlewellan only had 16 players available to play in the return fixture? gael_09 (Down) - Posts: 10 - 20/11/2009 15:29:57 489511 Link 0 |

im not having a go at castlewellan in this post, its my opinion. lets just face it the castlewellan lads did not care at all about the game, they were not going to be relegated and were not in the play-offs for the league semis. having said that to be up against a team that had just won the championship final should have been more than enough motivation for them to get their act together and play for some pride in the jersey, which did not happen. it was also a local derby which should have motivated them again but did not. i read in the mourne observer a few weeks ago in the castlewellan notes that they were not happy with the way the club is rrun and the set up of the underage system. they will need to sort this out or they could end up like loughinisland and relegated. cillchuaabu (Down) - Posts: 115 - 20/11/2009 22:12:43 489925 Link 0 |
gaa.egghead not that its any of your business but i have lived in Castlewellan my whole life. Is that ok with you? What is your original club as clearly it is not Bryansford. Anyone from Bryansford could name about 20 town players. And Kevin is only 22 which means that there would not be very many players on the squad younger than him so i doubt that he would be the player they look up to.
