Motivation will be their biggest problem after their 70 odd year wait to win the Down Senior Title - They seem content with this according to some of the players comments in yesterdays Irish Daily Star

Their manager, Jim McCorry, is taking it seriously according to recent interviews. St. Eunans will be a difficult team to beat. They have experience & quality in the team.

been to championship games in armagh and tyrone, very high standard in tyrone as you would expect, dromore look the pick and pearce ogs in armagh. both teams have very good intercounty players eg, ricey, sean o;neill, colm mccollugh, andy mallon, ronan clarke. sure kilcoo will fear no team but its a serious step up in class. the bridge never managed it and they are far superior to kilcoo, only got beat because of complacency on the bench that night in hilltown.

kilcoo will never win the ulster championship. shouldn't have won down. robbed mayobridge. ulster has been blown wide open this year with all top teams like ballinwderry, cross, and mayobridge being put out so anyone could win it. kilcoo aren't good enough to do it and i'd say it'll be there only chance cause mayobridge will be hungry for the championship next year.

jgorman372 welcome to the board - nice positive first post! First point is "never win Ulster" do you mean ever? Bryansford would feel that they are the strongest team in Down, "far superior" to Mayobridge in their last meeting. Guess Kilcoo were lucky to beat them as well and IF Mckernan had been playing for Burren and IF those freetakers had scored for Loughinisland and IF IF IF. Macattack 125 I guess some people on here are just jealous of Kilcoo, however the vast majority of football people like yourself wish Kilcoo all the best. Kilcoo were playing (and also losing) to teams like Dromara & Tullylish not that long ago and it just shows you that if you put the effort in what you can achieve. The club has no superstars, very few University types (ex College or Abbey boys etc) and no blow-ins! Just hope that the potential from Minor teams comes through, as we all know that this is the vunerable time for these young lads. The bridge did fairly well in Ulster - bar 2006! St Eunans will be strong favourites and along with St Galls will be fancied to win the whole thing. Kilcoo will give it their best shot (with or without the support of other clubs in the county). Good luck to them and the Minors in Ulster!

I wish Kilcoo good luck in the Ulster Club but I think St. Eunans or St. Galls will win Ulster.

jgorman372 surley you are not jealous? After all the 'bridge won 5 in a row. Perhaps you were one of the brave lads who 'welcomed' the Kilcoo buses through the 'bridge on their way home after the games!

I think Kilcoo have every chance against chance St Eunan's. I don't think club football in Donegal is that strong.

So with a bit of belief in themselves anything's possible

Goalpost believe they send a crowd of young lads up to win a wee minor tournament in your beloved county today and the seniors beat the point by 20 not bad? Red Bull most give you wings! Enjoy our Paddy and sort your own county football out!

Good to see a different side rather than Mayobridge in the Ulster Championship. The last few years Mayobridge have been very poor. They'll have a fairly good chance anyway. Remember the year Mayobridge only scored 1 point in an Ulster game.
