7 different winners in Cavan in the last 25 years - Cavan Gaels, Mullahoran, Gowna, Kingscourt, Baileboro, Ramor and Laragh. I think only Baileboro won it once in that time.

Limerick, Football: Ten different champions since 1984 (Dromcollogher-Broadford, Ballylanders, Fr Caseys, Monaleen, UL, Galbally, Claughaun, Newcastlewest, Glenacurrane Rovers, St Kierans). One college team (UL, 1998) and one combination team (Glenacurrane, 1991). Six other clubs have played in the final (St Senans, Adare, Mungret, Athea, Hospital-Herbertstown, Askeaton). This year's final is between champions Drom-Broadford and 2006 winners Fr Caseys.

Hurling: Eight different champions since 1984 (Adare, Bruree, Garryspillane, Ahane, Patrickswell, Kilmallock, Ballybrown, Claughaun). Three other clubs have been beaten finalists (Croom, Doon, Cappamore). This year's semi-finalists are Adare (going for three-in-a-row), Emmets (divisional team from South Limerick, chasing their first), Na Piarsaigh (also chasing their first) and Murroe-Boher (last won in 1887 as Murroe, the longest wait in the GAA's history).

Although there has been a fair spread of titles in recent years, it was a different story up to the mid-1990s. Of the 33 hurling titles from 1965 to 1997, Patrickswell won 16, Kilmallock 6, South Liberties 4, Claughaun 3 and Killeedy 1. Claughaun won 12 football championships during the same period.

What about at minor level. In cavan, the Gaels are winning it every year, which in my opinion is not bright for the future.
