Sorry lads, the other post was gettin a bit ridiculous there. Maybe on this one we can stick to talking bout the football and if the lads want to keep arguing they can do so on the other post?
Was the Arles Kilcruise match replayed? What games are up next? And when?

st.josephs v portlaoise
i believe myself now that if joes are to have a chance, they will have to stop the goals. portlaoise put 4 goals past mountmellick and 4 past portarlongton. and theres not much teams that can win while conceding 4 goals. josephs have a very young team along with the past legands of laois county football. hopefully these can combine and put up a stern test to the town.

arles killeen v arles kilcruise
could be the tie of the round. overall i believe killeen have the skill and quality to see this one through. but derbys arent won like this. if killeen can keep conways and ross quiet, they should have it. i honestly dont think kilcruise have the players to keep the killeen forwards quiet but i could be wrong. the limerick panelist they have (ive never actually seen him play) connolly i think, could be dangerous. but looking at the two panels overall, killeen should be set for a county final with the town

any thoughts to the games? anyone feel im wrong? please let me know

Waterboy I think if ye moved Donie Brennan to full forward and left kingston and Eamon Mahon mid field you would be flying. Eamon is a class player and does'nt get enough recognition, he was my man of the match last week.

I understand why you have Donie B M/F He is a dynamo but would he be better utilised as full forward?

Any comments?

perhaps.
100% agree with you about eamon he was excellant! but donie can put in the right ball from out further and he knows when to push up and go forward when they need him up there.

A few suggestions for my Arles-Kileen friends firstly why on earth did the two clubs break up ye would have a top quality side which could compete in Leinster and resemble Portlaoise who are the best team in Laois by a Long way. Secondly St. Josephs v Portlaoise is the big game Killeen v the "real" Arles is of as i would say local interest in the entire Arles area. Secondly talking of players who have come into Arles/Killeen in the last few years. This has always been a policy with players emerging from Ballylinan to play for ye. Also Paul Garrigan, Hayden (who left), the O'Sheas, Two O'Rourkes and of course ESB man Kingston have been reportedly
signed by someone trying to improve things down in Killeen. Thirdly who is this AK player who declared himself ready to be selected on Tom Croftons Kildare side. Killeen must have some second team for a man good enough to play for Kildare being on it. Would one of the posters for that sunny South eastern enclave of Laois please tell me who he is if you would be ever so kind.Thirdly dont get over arrogant about getting to finals and such know ye are a small club and these days wont incapsulate more than another 5 to 6 years at the most. The wheel will go round. The Real Arles on the other hand are a club to be admired nearly abandoned shamefully by the county board in 1995. They brought a team of youngsters and players (whom killeen thought were only Junior B players) to Five succesful championship seasons the most precious of all being in 2003. The "UNDERDOG" won the championship before its neighbour. So in Conclusion let me wish the Real Arles the best of Luck.

Omar, I started this post so we could concentrate on football rather than Kilcruise-Killeen politics. Anyway, I was under the impression that Kilcruise were the ones who split away? Anyway, forget I asked!!

Agree 100% with the other two lads, Eamon Mahon was excellent at midfield. To be honest, Donie B was good at full-forward, but he completely ran the show after he moved out the field I thought?

As for Portlaoise, I reckon stopping Touhy and the full-forward the last day (whose name I forget) should be the main focus for Joseph's. I didnt think anyone else stood out as a match winner apart from those two. What did ye think lads?

Portlaoise will have no bother beating St Joesphs their back-line like Killeens just wont be able to contain Portlaoise"s forwards...I had high hopes for Mountmellick and Graiguecullen this year even though it was only in the league Graigue are the only team who have beaten Portlaoise in the last two years , due to the fact their backline has bag"s of pace and sniffed out the fast pace football Portlaoise usually play , just the forwards let them against an average St Joes team who should have been beaten at half time in the game!!! Killeen will be beat Kilcruise i reckon they"ve just abit more quality than them it"ll be close though , it should be the one game that will ignite this championship hard hitting , big crowd , loads of score"s , sending offs u name it ive high hopes for this game The Old Firm of Laois football lol!!!

I think the F/F your referring to was Bruno McCormack....................a force to be reckoned with, excellent player.

Wonderboy I wouldnt think there will be much between Kilcruise and Killeen, Kilcruise have been playing exceptional lately.

But I think we just might have they edge, dont think they have anyone to compete with jason Enright or the king.

Time will tell boys roll on Saturday.

I missed the last game but the ff was probably Barry Fitzgerald.

The battle of Arles should be a great game.

Sorry my mistake, was not at that one either, I thought Barry was out of action for a while. Excellent FF, will be tough if we do get a chance to go head to head with PL again.

Found the programme there and it was McCormack the last day. A serious handful. Id have to say that Touhy looked awesome the last day. Is he on the Laois panel? The two stand-out players on that night were him and Donie Brennan, and I didnt see either line out for Laois over the summer?

Great to see the REAL club win tonight. Must have be hard to watch Kilcruise win a county title before ye. Might just have another one. Might stop the Kileen appreciation society from coming on here. Eddie Kinsella did a great job stopped all the messing

All Killeen want to do is try bully and intimidate teams , its no mystery why the club isnt liked they bring everything on themselves they try blame ref"s and the county board for not treating them fairly....Kilcruise rightly silenced the dark side of Arles last night fair play to Mick Byrne a super job he"s done there....I feel sorry for a few of the decent Killeen lads who just want to go out an play football like Beano is a gentleman but time and time they get let down...I hope for the good of Laois club football there"ll be a different name on the county title instead of The Town even though ive massive respect for them....

Kileen were a disgrace last night. Anyone else see a well known Kileen player spit in the face of a Arles chap?

Very quiet from the Killeen crowd here now. Maybe in Napper Tandys paying out very early?.... or all in Farrells drowning sorrows.

Disappointed with the way things went last night.....not just the result. But best of luck to Kilcruise in the final.....I didn't see the second semi final but judging from the result, you'll need every bit of that luck!
