Will be very tight, Belmullet looked very one dimensional against Davitts in the forward line however there support play in defence was very good. Kilcommon can not afford to give away any frees as padden will convert. Belmullet full back line were un tested so jury is still out. Possesion is key so midfield will be vital, belmullet used three in this are on Sunday and crowded it which worked well. Paddy Barrett is an excellent fielder s kilcommon will find it tough going in this sector. Kilcommon are difficult to weigh up they havent played in recent weeks so will be interesting to see how they react to the lay off since there league win over kilmaine. There last Championship outing saw them beatin on there own turf however they impressed in there opening games. Kilcommon also have a good free taker in Moran. Thay seem to be strong at the back so if there forwards deliver they have a chance. As said before it will all depend on midfield should be a cracker and a draw wouldnt surprise me. However I think the extra games under their belt will benifit them so im going with Belmullet by the minimum.

Good points Snap.............Paddy Barrett is a good player, I used to play soccer and football with him........he's got good skills.
I think your right that it will come down to the forward lines on each side as both defences are very good.
Should be an excellent match, can't wait till Saturday

Cill Chomain by 3 but these teams know each other inside out from playing in local competitions so it's gonna be tough but if I had loads of money I'd stick it on Cill Chomain

But they play scrappy football and they like it, did you not see the 3 matches against Davits, when it got scrappy they got goals

Like I said in an early post that failed to make the page...both teams should amalgamate, they are neighbours and it would benefit senior football in the area. They should call themselves St Brendans. There is no team called Belmullet in reality. Most of their good players come from Kilmore and back Erris Head or out towards Shraigh. Even their new pitch is about six miles from the town . As for Cill Chomain...they can handle the PR end of it. For a small rural team that have won nothing of note ever, I admire the way they manage to keep in the headlines. Two clubs for the county board to force to amalgamate if ever there was a case.

I agree ontheroad, maybe it would be more beneficial to both teams to imalgamate so that they could actually play a level of football that some of their players deserve to play at.. then maybe they would have something to be in the headlines about..

Good point however I doubt they will do as well as the amalgamation of Kiltane/ Ballycroy which has been a proven success I think they call themselves.. Kiltane.

There was one team in the 70's but this will never happen again! They both have made the quarter finals of the championship and you say they should join, you know as much as football in Mayo as I do about bloody table-tennisand that is nothing. If I were you, I'd ask the men in white jackets to let you out for an hour or two to see some football matches, both teams are serious contenders in the championship, yet you say they should join together! Given both teams histories, this would never happen. It must be April fools day, as you are the biggest I've heard on these forums, and that's saying alot

Cranky 360 : will you please please stop talkin pure rubbish about kilcommon day in day out, fair enough everyone has their own opinion and all is fair in love and war but come on, you comment on every topic going, you start non-stop threads about kilcommon which ends in somebody saying something you dont agree with, you started a thread about davitts-belmullet because the winner was to play kilcommon(obviously your club) as soon as the whistle sounded in ballina, you had a thread up about belmullet-kilcommon trying to further hype up the game and bringing unwanted attention towards the game, let the papers and whatnot deal with it for crying out loud, theres no hype needed towards the game as we all know. As for amalgamation, thats childish, both clubs run perfectly well and competing at a fine level so no need to go down that road any time soon. Forget about looking for pre-match hype or any motivation on this forum kids, youre only fooling yourself.

Cranky360. I know all the history of Belmullet. I know that any successful team was made up of Kilmore and Gladaree boys or outsiders who were Guards or officals posted to Belmullet. In fact the proper team for back there should be the parish of Kilmore. I know Belmullet won a junior title along with an intermediate about 40 years ago however the success of ..ahem ...Cill Choman simply eludes me.

When was the last time belmullet won a county title at mens grade? The dublin of mayo championship...so much expectation every year.Connacht finalists 2005 kilcommon, belmullet semi-finalists every year. Get back on the road and keep referring to the history books good lad
