Brian McGilligan and Anthony Tohill I believe were the best pairing in recent years (last qtr century) but unfortunately internal disputes in Derry meant that Tohill lost mc gilligans his services. Deegan/McCarton of Down were also imposing. I remember Pat Spillane crying that Down were only winning matches becuase of their midfield dominance in the early 90's. When did Cormac play Midfield Dell? I only ever recall him as a defender. I could be wrong. Niamh (Derry) - Posts: 2397 - 25/10/2009 22:29:48 466158 Link 0 |

anybody with Jack O'Shea, he's still the daddy of them all and was a pleasure to watch.... in my humble opinion Rahilly_Man (Tyrone) - Posts: 361 - 25/10/2009 23:55:14 466210 Link 0 |

think Jack O'Shea is the daddy of them all when it comes to midfielders so guess u could put anybody with him and they'd still be the top pairing, he was a joy to watch had it all and is the undoubted master, in my humble opinion. will take some argument to convince me otherwise tomato whelo doesnt even come close!
