The gaelic grounds surface is looking better than it has in years, it should really get more credit than what it really does. Newcastle West is puting in a lot of work at the moment so i hear, all weather pitch, flood lights new goal mounds, this pitch has one of the best atmospheres for a championship match there is. killmallock is prob no 2 in limerick after gaelic grounds, great open field with excellent playing surface. A lot of credit has to be given to grounds men all around the county because it is mostly people giving up there free time for excellent surfaces we play on . . headquarters.. wat do ye think ballybrowns new field tom1995 (Limerick) - Posts: 22 - 19/10/2009 17:38:28 459206 Link 0 |
Is that Ballybrown field the co board one??, the opposite side of the road from the old one. Its not a bad pitch, bit soft, cuts up, but it'll probably mature. Interloper (Limerick) - Posts: 221 - 19/10/2009 19:39:09 459374 Link 0 |

ballyagran must be the worst pitch in the county how do the get so many games if u are playing corner back u cant see your own corner foward at the other end leftback (Limerick) - Posts: 66 - 19/10/2009 21:42:45 459545 Link 0 |
Leftback, you should' a gone to specsavers. Ballayagran is an excellent pitch and a credit to the local club. The standard of facilities at some of our Junior clubs is first class and they are reaping the rewards as I believe that overall the Junior hurling is improving all the time and teams like Kilteely, Effin, Staker Wallace and Crecora are to the forefront in this. Staker Wallace pitch must be considered one of the best pitches now. Na Pairsaigh have a decent pitch as well. 07_LK_1973 (Limerick) - Posts: 115 - 20/10/2009 12:14:16 460071 Link 0 |
I have to agree that the field in Ballyagran is overated. Very tough playin against that slope , I always felt that it can be worth 2 or 3 points to a team. As for Coolyroe , Ive never seen a field where players get injured so much . Lethal so it is. ranglerrothar (Limerick) - Posts: 72 - 20/10/2009 12:32:52 460113 Link 0 |
