While Storey's contribution to Wexford hurling is immaculate, do you really think he is the best hurler in the timeframe you mention? slayer (Limerick) - Posts: 6480 - 24/09/2009 11:42:38 435110 Link 0 |
Slayer I genuinely do and he's as sound as a pound then as well. kleenex (Wexford) - Posts: 392 - 24/09/2009 11:44:45 435112 Link 0 |

You cant look beyond Henry Shefflin. Tommy Walsh or Eoin Kelly (Tipp) for the best hurler MARNELL (Westmeath) - Posts: 728 - 24/09/2009 12:23:01 435155 Link 0 |

Good summary OFC... Hard to look past Shefflin. All the players you mentioned were fantastic players, and impossible to pick one! carlowman (Carlow) - Posts: 1881 - 24/09/2009 13:30:19 435225 Link 0 |

Sean McMahon would be my choice, he was the outstanding center back of this time, his catching ability was excellent, he read the game better then any, his contribution on the scoreboard was vital to Clare in tight game's. His greatest asset however was that he was a leader on the field. Though he was not captain, he led that team by example and he was more important to Clare in my opinion then Loughnane in winning the AI's.
