Mark Fitzsimons and Niall O'Shea. Committed, hard as nails and just what the county needs

The best Div 3 players could make it in the county team if they were commited & passionate, maybe even some of the best Div 4 players. The Tyrone selectors don't restrict themselves to Div 1 players, often picking players from Div 2 & 3. Paul McComiskey, who is one of the best players we have, plays for a Div 2 team - Dundrum. Michael Magee from Ardglass was excellent at U21.

Laverty will never be anything other than a good club player. Its that simple. If he ever tastes championship football for Down at any time in the future, you can remind me of the above comments!!!!!!! And by the way I've seen a few Kilcoo games this year!!!!!!

Players who I think should be included on the Down Senior Panel include:

Martin Clarke
John Clarke
Louis Sloan
Conor Laverty
Michael Walsh
Hugh Davey

Some of you may not agree with this but it's just my opinion. I would like to hear what others think of my opinions (and no name calling please - this is a serious posting)

I'd agree with your choices. Hugh Davey & Louis Sloan showed promise but weren't given decent opportunities this year. Joe Ireland is another quality player.

AJ you're right - they weren't given a fair crack of the whip. These are two players I feel were let down by the county last season and should definitely be called up again.

I clean forgot about Joe Ireland - he is another good prospect who should have another chance.

marty clarke will be great boost for down football. another 2 players who shud be on down team never mind panel is liam lennon and aidan burns for castlewellan. liam is the best man marker in down just ask the likes of danny hughes who he took to the cleaners when castlewellan played saval in cship. aidan burns is awsome talant in down big strong powerful can beat men can catch score goals and his long range point taking is second to none in down. i know burns was on panel a few years ago but didn feature in championship, dont know the reason why tho but i remember he played a few league games and finished downs top scorer in the national league, burns is the type of player down need in full foward line

Louis Sloan might be back in the panel, Carr didnt give him a chance at all. Hed be a good holding midfielder for Gordon. He was far too good to be on teh subs bench, no midfielder would want to mark him.

Another couple of players who def should be considered given they didn't get the chance they deserved under previous management are the John McAreavy from Tullylish an also Darren Cunningham from Saval. McAreavy is a great all round strong player who can win his own ball and bring players into the game with long range passing, also very reliable free taker which we need from the left! Anytime I seen cunningham he looked like a strong composed player

Aidin Branagan has been on top form all year and a brilliant man marker. Some of last years u21s who are well built.

Rory simpson is another player that would be a good player to have on the panel maybe at left half foward

Laverty deserves another go. far more experince and stronger now. would go as far as to say he is better than Paul McCommisky.

he is better than mccomiskey easily, laverty playing in division 1 and mccomiskey not, you play better if you play week in week out with the best
