Agree with utilityplayer, especially with a large percentage of u21s in collage away from home then having to try make it back for training and matchs after being sitting around waiting for matchs during the summer 2fromplay (Limerick) - Posts: 36 - 29/10/2009 17:31:25 469940 Link 0 |

Heard 2nite that Bruree are to play ST Johns sunday in south final. This obviously means that they won their appeal against athlacca, can anyone confirm this? longD (Limerick) - Posts: 66 - 30/10/2009 22:43:13 471430 Link 0 |

wats the appeal against bruree about?? thought you had 3 days to make an appeal?? SWP (Limerick) - Posts: 81 - 01/11/2009 18:09:48 472353 Link 0 |
Bruree made the pretty basic mistake of lodging an objection against Athlacca before checking if their own house was in order. Apparently, they played an U16 player in the earlier rounds of the competition and this was exposed when the South Board examined their records. Bruree have now also been thrown out. One of the Athlacca mentors has got a crazy six month ban for playing the U16 player so most likely the Bruree manager is looking at something similiar. Whole saga makes Bruree look a bit farcial. southshamrock (Limerick) - Posts: 2 - 02/11/2009 11:50:22 472833 Link 0 |
Lads if this U 16 rule is checked into a lot of other clubs will be in trouble as well. One of the east teams is definatley playing u 16's. This could be a farce yet. Clubgaa (Limerick) - Posts: 879 - 02/11/2009 12:57:10 472889 Link 0 |
swp a club has 3 days for an objection after a match the south board held an investigation into bruree after a complaint and as a result decided to remove bruree from the championship if bruree feel they were they can appeal all the way to the munster council 123fedup (Limerick) - Posts: 225 - 02/11/2009 14:41:32 473011 Link 0 |

i know ye lads are on about hurling....... but a certain football club(wont name club or player) had an u16playing all year long... dis team was was succesful dis year wth the u16 playing a vital role in all matches throughout da season... if the county board really looked into this i think lots of clubs might be caught out centremid (Limerick) - Posts: 191 - 02/11/2009 20:25:21 473384 Link 0 |
Bruree have been thrown out as far I know and Blackrock have been re-instated. Bruree played a U/16 and this was admitted by their own players at the weekend. South (Limerick) - Posts: 122 - 04/11/2009 12:00:58 474753 Link 0 |
We just about had a team in the east this year, but we did. Kilteely-Dromkeen didnt approach Caherline with their 4 players.Too close to home i suppose wit all them batins we gave em when we were junior . Their young fellas had no prob goin2 national skool in caherline though. Politics is alive and well, wholl they join nex year, newtown shandrum. Its ridiculous these intra division almagations and just attempts by clubs to stop their players playing with rivals fedamore and bruffs joining strong example of this! South (Limerick) - Posts: 122 - 04/11/2009 12:52:34 474812 Link 0 |

the 4 kilteely boys went to school in Hospital and would be friendly with the Hospital boys + its not the first time Kilteely players have lined out for Hospital when they couldn't field a team of their own. As for not joining Caherline... well I suppose you want to be in with a chance of winning something at the end of the day!!!!!!! dingo1 (Limerick) - Posts: 281 - 04/11/2009 13:45:39 474871 Link 0 |
But whats to Murroe/B from almagating Monaleen just because the lads went to school with them. Caherline would be the logical sloution in the divsion, neighbours and not a big town that have bigger reserves to draw from. It would have been the fairest. Almagations are becoming a ridiculous in this county. Clubs need to start shouldering responsiblity and promoting the game better. How can smaller parishes not have similar problems. Where do ye get 4 parishes??? last time I checked; Kilteely Dromkeen = 1 parish & Hospital Herbertstown = 1 parish (thats a total of 2!)... squad size of 21 players - 16 from hospital, 1 from herbertstown, 4 from kilteely + 0 from dromkeen.. longD (Limerick) - Posts: 66 - 04/11/2009 17:13:34 475155 Link 0 |
Hospital have been given the south title, Athlacca and Bruree must have been thrown out. 2fromplay (Limerick) - Posts: 36 - 05/11/2009 00:57:19 475672 Link 0 |
Each of those are one parish each. Ballyagran with castletown are a small club and yet every year produce a team. Glenroe manage to do it even knockainey manage to do it. An almagation of that size should be entered into the Division A automatically South (Limerick) - Posts: 122 - 05/11/2009 03:42:37 475703 Link 0 |
