I wouldn't take 32 too seriously. Anyone who has played the game or watched it over any period of time appreciates this team for what they are. It is not even cyncism as some apply, just the way players have attempted to stop other players for generations, and any back who claims never to have tried to spoil their opponent is a liar. Except Cats have the physicality, aggression, fitness and work rate to make that count even more. It was noticeable this year that the four teams they played in the championship; Galway, Dublin, Waterford and Tipp all asked the Cats serious questions because they have all incorporated the KK game. As a Dub I see nothing wrong with that and look forward to maybe beating them in the next year or two.

It has to be yes to that one. I don't go with the argument that the teams they were up against over the last few years have been weak. This a period when all teams train, prepare and are more committed than they ever have been. To do what they have done is something else - fair dues.

. cork were getting on when kk won their first of the 4 in a row.

That was in 2006. About 13 of that AGEING Cork team got beat by one goal by Tipperary THIS YEAR.

Hopefully your post is a wind up.

form goes out the window in them huge rivalries patrique. cork arnt up to it these days and havnt been in a while. never look like they would win it since they lost in their last final appearance. they need a team revamp quickly. because they are the best hurling county ever. i dont like seeing them get beat by galway etc.

KK are definitely the greatest team of the last four years but the standard of the opposition has been very poor, they were lucky to beat an emerging young Tipp team yesterday with a lucky refereeing decision.Surely the yardsick is the quality of the opposition, not that you keep winning, beating nothing doesn't make you great in my book, greatest ever ah don't be losing the run of yourselves. When I think of all the fantastic teams I've been priviledged to see since the fifties, lads have a stem of sense.

Yeah - Congrats to Kilenny. Hard to watch it, but as a Corkman, the silver lining is that Tipp didn't win!

Great contest, two great teams. Tipp left it after them, couldn't kill off the game during their purple patch. Kilkenny took their chances, even when the pressure was on. That's the true sign of champions and that's why Kilkenny were the better team.

We did see some weaknesses in Kilkenny this year though. They might be the greatest team ever, but I think other counties are starting to believe they're beatable. That belief is all that's required for a great championship next year. Kilkenny are still the team to beat, Tipp will be hurting from leaving an AI behind them, Galway will have that edge they've been lacking, Cork will have a winter together and prove that they are far from a spent force, Limerick should be hurting and could take a big scalp, whilst Dublin are starting to believe. Next year should be a cracker!

All the lads saying the cats aren't the greatest team ever seen must be annoyed by Micheál Ó Muircheartaigh and Jimmy Barry Murphy saying this is the greatest team they've ever seen. But sure 32-4-1 knows more than these two giants of hurling.

And just think Noel Hickey back to full fitness next year, JJ out to the half back line, and there still is huge strength in depth.

UP THE CATS!

418383 they were last year, this year, tipp were better,KK should have never won that match.

The cats:

Scored more scores
Scored more goals
Lead at half time
Lead at the end
Dominated the last 10 minutes as they did againstGalway
Made as many goal chances as Tipp but converted theirs
Didn't have a man sebnt off for a dirty a pull as you will ever see

but sure we were lucky...............

Can never take this 4 in a row seriously. For me Corks 2 All Irelands earlier in the decade were far more noteworthy. At least Cork promote both codes - hurling and football. Whenever Kilkenny eventually start to promote both, then and only then should they gain the respect of GAA supporters!

Well........They saw off a cork team EVERYONE was raving about, beat maybe the best Waterford side ever, beat a Tipperary team who have only lost three big games in two years, two of those to Kilkenny, and beat a useful limerick team. They main rival has perhaps been Galway, but they have over come them as well.

True the Cork 4 in a row lost in Munster AFTER the all Ireland final, and did beat Dublin, Dublin, Antrim and Dublin in the finals, but I still think you have to look at this Kilkenny team with awe.

THEY LOST 4 GAMES IN A DECADE. And two of them were in a 7 week period in 2004.

You can't even begin to argue with that.

As a great man said on the sunday game, the score only matters when the final whistle is blowing.

In fairness lads the Meath boy is right, Kilkenny won't have achieved greatness until they do what meath did this year and win the Nicky Rackard against a high class team like London.

I fail to remember the last time Meath won anything of any significance to be honest. And as for comparing the Cork team of the 40's Kilkenny would destroy them, Hurling is played 100 times faster now than it was then and is far more skillful.
