Dromard need to improve a lot. Clonglusih will make sure that McGee is marked, maybe even 2 players on him. If the stop him, then Dromard could be in trouble. acomeon (Longford) - Posts: 82 - 18/09/2009 22:57:49 430263 Link 0 |

I am supprised that the papers are tipping Dromard to win. I taught the Clongluish would be the team, after all Dromard only played for 20 minutes and Clongluish played all the football. acomeon (Longford) - Posts: 82 - 23/09/2009 10:03:53 434058 Link 0 |
I think the papers are right. Dromard will up there game this time round and come out on top by 4 or 5 points. In their forward line the last day only McGee contributed, i expect jamesy and mimnagh to be more involved this time round. Well, it time to call the replay on Sunday. Clongluish were excellent the last day, big players for the big stage. If Dowd and the Bardens control mid-field again, then teh Dromard Backline will not cope with the Clonglusih forward line. acomeon (Longford) - Posts: 82 - 25/09/2009 15:08:38 436459 Link 0 |
With Paddy Dowd out with the flu ya'd have to favour Dromard by a couple of points Spinx (Longford) - Posts: 1359 - 26/09/2009 12:54:52 437085 Link 0 |

Well done to Clonglusih, maybe the best team on the day in a game of tactics. Clongluish look to have a bit more around mid-field with David Bardan the main man. Dromard lost their shape, which was supprising after the first game. The should have played a straight 15. Anyway the only dissappintment for me on the day was the ref. I think he got the call wrong for what should have been a penalty, Jamsie Martin was pulled down by Walters. In fairness he got up a scored an excellent point. I was a penalty. Also he did not let Dromard take a free in the last minute of the first half, and he called 5 minutes of extra time, but only played 4. Dromard, will not complain, the don't go down that road as far as I can see as a Club. The stayed on the pitch after the game and congratulated Clonglusih. I heard that a lot of their supporters stayed after the game also, and waited for their team to come out from the dressing room. Anyway, the Clonglusih players deserve their victory. The will repersent Longford well in Leinster. They will need to full support of the county. acomeon (Longford) - Posts: 82 - 27/09/2009 22:24:23 438071 Link 0 |
Don't think Dromard can have too many complaints about the penalty appeal. If you seen the highlights on tv just as that attack was been launched it should of been a free out to Clonguish as a Dromard player threw the ball out to Diarmuid Masterson to start the move. And as they say these things even themselves out as we seen with the luck they got with the goal and also in the first game when McGee kicked the ball 2 foot wide of the posts yet the umpire gave him a point!!! I saw a very funny sign on the road heading from Drumlish to Longford. IT read 'Clonguish to keep Connolly in the County and the Province'. Obviously a wee dig at where Dromard is from!! Very funny!! Oddball (Roscommon) - Posts: 957 - 30/09/2009 13:37:54 440917 Link 0 |

I was talking to a few of the Dromard Players and supporters this week, and in fairness to them, they all say that the best team won over the 2 games. I asked abouth the penalty and their said that it should have been, but these calls happen. acomeon (Longford) - Posts: 82 - 30/09/2009 16:21:31 441088 Link 0 |
Spinx is there not 2 umpires at the goals to decide if something is a score or not?? No one disagreed on the day, it was a good score. RULE (Longford) - Posts: 1 - 30/09/2009 16:48:49 441138 Link 0 |
It was a good score just like it was a good call on the penalty shout!!! Anyways the best team over the 2 games won so can have no complaints there Spinx (Longford) - Posts: 1359 - 01/10/2009 12:11:38 441835 Link 0 |
very disappointing result, we did not turn up on the day and clonguish deserved the victory. spinx i dont know how you could say the penalty call was right, jamesie martin was flung to the ground! even if it was a penalty, who knows if it wouldve been converted, still shouldve been one. dromardabu (Longford) - Posts: 175 - 01/10/2009 20:16:16 442434 Link 0 |
Looking back on it on tv it should of been a free out long before Martin got the ball. Just as the attack was been launched a Dromard player threw the ball to Masterson who played the ball in. So referee may of got it wrong on two counts but at least Clonguish weren't robbed in the end. Spinx (Longford) - Posts: 1359 - 02/10/2009 19:12:15 443348 Link 0 |
it was a blatant penalty why cant you admit it? anyone can miss a ball being thrown, i didnt see it. but jamesy being fouled was plain to see for everyone except you dromardabu (Longford) - Posts: 175 - 03/10/2009 17:37:05 443950 Link 0 |
