(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Well lads just little over a week to the big game. Who's your favourites to win?

Dromard have a full squad to pick from. Clonguish with major doubts over Paddy Dowd. All to play for. Roll on the 13th!!!

i dont think i'll lose much sleep thinking about it.
it has the hallmarks to be the worst game of football of all times, and there was a horrid amount of games played in the past

It's a pity no south longford club i.e Ballymahon are not in the final as the general public is sick of the north longford team negative tactics.

well said Spinx...what happened legan at the weekend?? according to legan4life they were gonna sail through the intermediate championship...i think Dromard are gonna have a bit too much for clonguish in the forward line.if its a good dry day it will be a cracking match full of fast attacking football!!

This is a mouth watering prospect of a final. Dromard have been strong, for the past few years, from 2005. Clongluish are always there or there abouts and have some of the best forward in Longford. When you look at the Bardens, Dowds, Clarke, O'Brien, Williams Brothers, Burks, younger players: Faughlin (excellent player at mid-field, with Dromard roots), Quinn, Walters. They are a team full of talent. The have under-preformed over the past five years, but sunday could be their day.
Dromard will be no push overs. I think that they have never lost a Championship final, been in 4 won 4. The don't do loosing. The have the Bulls Mastersons, McGee's, Martins, Conefery's, Sheirdans, Mimnagh's,McEntires, Vance, Donohoe, Reynolds's, Pettit, Faughlin.
A host of talent on both sides. I guess who ever has the best defence will win...

Stephen Watters is out of Sundays game. Damaged his knee ligaments at training Tuesday night taking a kick out. Mikie McGuinness will deputise. Looking like Dromard now with Watters out and Paddy Dowd a doubt.

As said above hopefully it will be a dry day so should get a good game of football.

I think the mind games have started. There will be a lot of talk of injuries coming up to the final and all clearing up for the big day.

I think that the two clubs are too experianced to fall for this. Dromard are been very quite this year, no information about injuries or in fairness no headlines about who is not available for any game. Niall Vance, their regular Full back this year did not play against Abbey. Is he injuried ?

No he was dropped for disciplinary reasons. Watters damaged his ligaments and is almost sure to be out. Mikie McGuinness is a decent replacement, following in his fathers footsteps who won a Senior medal in 1981 while playing in goals. Paddy Dowd had a light run out tonight so looks like he'll be lining out Sunday.

spinx you dont have a clue what your talking about!
i dont think the hammering we gave abbey will do us any good going into the final, lads might get a bit complacent and peaked too soon. im worried clonguish will sneak it by 3 or 4 but you never know we have never lost a final!!

While it will be a good occasion particularly for North Longford, I feel that the day and atmosphere will not be the same with the Slashers involvement. The crack around the town would be mighty saturday and sunday night if Slashers were in the final

dromardabu very conservative approach, only a foolish man would believe you saying clonguish will sneak it! and B&G you must be joking, there will be a great atmosphere in the park come sunday for both finals, four teams with great tradition of bringing a crowd.

Should be a crackin match between 2 very good teams, hopin the weather doesnt ruin what should be a god contest, even though dromard havent lost a county final theres always a first time so clonguish by 4points on sunday (i hope)!!!

south longford contribute more to d gaa than north longford clubs. They have a much richer tradition and better underage structures. I predict two dour games from four northern clubs. Clonguish will sneak the senior.
