Meaths first fifteen for 2010

Nolan is a good shotstopper, solid under the high ball, but the reason he is not on the meath panel is because his kickouts are not good enough.

i dont buy that about nolans kick outs being the reason he isnt selected.sure paddy o rourke made a habit of kicking balls over the line this year there has to be more to it why nolan isnt on the panel be it personal reasons or whatever i dont know.i missed the pats game friday but every person that was there i have talked to are raving about him

He did have a very good game against st pats, but his kickouts only reach between the 45 and 65, and that is simply not far enough to be playing for meath because kickouts are probably the most important part of a keepers game as they would have at least 25 in every game.

1.) David Gallagher 2.) Chris O'Connor 3.) Kevin Reilly 4.) Eoin Harrington 5.) Seamus Kenny 6.) Cormac McGuinness 7.) Mickey Burke 8.) Nigel Crawford / Shane O'Rourke 9.) Brian Meade / Shane O'Rourke 10.) Peadar Byrne 11.) Anto Moyles 12.) Stephen Bray 13.) David Bray 14.) Joe Sheridan 15.) Cian Ward Anto Moyles back pulling the strings like in 07. Good delivery into that full forward line and we'd be in business. I hope King bounces back but I was very disappointed with him this year. Paddy O'Rourke is still a bit raw in goals for inter county level. Hopefully he will develop and make the step-up soon. For the moment an experienced head like Gallagher would serve us well. Shane O'Rourke when fit should be groomed to take over from Crawford in the middle.

There is a sentence missing from my last post there which has been removed by the moderator. Just so you don't think I can't form a paragraph. Basically just saying that M Ward in my opinion is not quite at the standard to challenge for the midfield starting places.

Yep, the moderator seems to be removing posts and paragraphs if they don't agree with them.

cant believe i am seeing mcguinneas on all these teams,ye he is good on d ball but he simply cant defend sure look what kennealy did in d semi, destroyed us.harrington(great reader of the game) at centre back and burke in d corner.not great but ya would get away with it

Rubbish dgaffer, McGuinness has been a very consistent player all year. He plays the CB role in the traditional way. He holds the line and doesn't expose his full back line which probably saved numerous scores aginst us this season. You can't afford to leave acres of space in front of a full back as any decent forward will destroy you. Kennelley mopped up on breaking ball against us, and thats something that our wing backs and midfield should have been putting a stop to.

McGuinness was marking a professional athlete.....It was a once off...!He had a good year in general....I can't believe people aren't selecting Brian Farrell the man was plagued with injury's at the start of the year and wouldn't have been playing near his full potential....Hopefully if he has an injury free winter we will see the real Farrell next year.....He is in my eyes Meath's best score taker....!

McGuinness did well and improved with every game. Making a mark on a no. 6 jersey takes time.

Hard to say but something like this...

Brendan Murphy
Chris O'Connor
Kevin Reilly
Eoin Harrington
Seamus Kenny
Cormac McGuinness
Caomhin King
Nigel Crawford
Brian Meade
Jamie Queeney
Shane O'Rourke
Alan Nestor/Cian Ward
Stephen Bray
Joe Sheridan
David Bray

Would like to see Kevin Reilly back to full fitness, the likes of Shane O'Rourke,Jamie Queeney,David Bray and Brian Sheridan getting good league time, and even Brian Farrell who was injured for a lot of last year...

I don't wish to sound proprietorial and am honoured by your agreement with my views but you seem to be copying text directly from my own posting on this subject! Like I say, delighted to be quoted but find the verbatim copying - on this and some of my other points - a little weird to say the least!
