why cant i be serious!! sure he's scored on average around 5 or 6 points a game.. thats even against the likes of maynooth, leixlip and celbridge! he's got height, strenght, speed and is well able to kick points!

i have seen this Durkan lad play against us (plunketts) and in all fairness he was a great player the two times we played them! supposedly his perfomances this year have been brillaint but he has gone un-noticed! but then also you have got tom barron from kevins who i am sure is minor again next year and cian farrell (ballyna) ive heard is another excellent player but has been injured

gaa_5 i think ur getting a bit ahead of urself. Durkan didnt stand out at all against leixlip and wouldnt stand a chance against the likes of moolick, comerford and cribben.

No i dont think Herbert should get on it! i mean he is a good player and quick but put him on the physical side of things and he will struggle!

with the trainin the minors will be doin herbert will be plenty physical i dont think that will be an issue! ive seen him on numerous occasions and he is a lovely footballer and someone youd put your house on with frees!

Is your man podge from ballykelly minor next year. Probably our best defender this year. Much the same team as this year...maybe four startin spots up for grabs when you take into account the amount of lads still underage next year. I think both Herbert and Durkan would be good enough for a place in the panel.

if wre talking about corner forward places there are plenty of people able for them spots. naas have people well good enough to play there, and so does teams like moorefield they have a real good forward line and even sarsfields aswel have good enough players.

Guys Herbert is too light for this level, just look at Mayo Minor size this year, thats where we ned to be. Anyway no point in having another guy like Fogarty who cant win their own primary possesion in the full forward line. Surely the remaining 8 teams in A championship have good forwards that are underage again next year !!!

Durkan would be your ideal corner forward or even wing! has everything (watch him play)! clane have a few decent players to! adam tyrell is a great player from moorefield but i dont think he would be commited enough! i will be looking forward to see moolick play next year! easily our best player this year and next year he can only get better

I agree Durkan would be an ideal wing or corner forward. The man has fitness to burn and can kick a point, altho why is this thread all about him?! Connor Murphy from Clane is a brilliant footballer well worth considering.

Conor Herbert a few years ago was one of the best in the county at his age but he hasnt put on a lot of muscle. And i dont think hes as good a free taker as Sean Hurley

i dont reckon hurley is that good a free taker although an excellent footballer i saw him kick 5 frees short in the first half alone wind assisted against clane in the championship

mark durkan of cocas is the best free taker in the county at minor!no dout abot it.iv seen him play a number of times now and he never disapoints.he averges about 3-4 points every game from frees.he is a very composed free taker and streaks the ball beautifuly.should definetly be playing minor next year.

i reckon hurley is the best free taker we have , when he played against us in the first round of the chapionship in clane he didnt miss one free the whole day and notched up a score somewhere in the region of 8-10 points.. conor herbert is a very tricky player and i would say alot of lads would get it hard to mark him. one lad that hasnt been mentioned is my club man plunkett, very good mid-fielder works all day and very strong just one to consider for the panel.
