Kilfian Pitch condition

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Killala recently played Kilfian in Kilfian in which the game ended in a draw I blame this on the condition of the pitch, A lot of locals are telling me that Kilfian purposely keep the pitch in bad shape to weaken the other teams, I personally feel this is a disgrace.

jpkillala will you cop yourself on the weather has been very bad and its hard to keep pitches up to standard, last time we played on the aidan mc donnell pk it was a credit to kilfian, but being a killala man you'd have to find something wrong with it, was told kilfian should have beaten ye off the pitch but for 2 silly goals

A credit to Kilfian thats true given that their pitch is covered with rocks and holes, their pitch is just like their play dirty, rough and just poor in general

Is killala's pitch much better jp i know the pitch is not to far from mullafarry but having sand insted of grass i think is a bit much even for killala

Its actually gpkillala not JP. There is nothing wrong with Killalas pitch it is in excellent condition unlike Kilfian and Tom Langan park

I just want to say aswell Tom Langan that in Mulafarry the quarry quarries stone not sand so there is no sand near Killalas pitch

If killala's pitch is so good why are they trying to purchase land beside asahi to build a new one thought for a killala gaa fan you know this and killala pitch is only a half a mile from the quarry ask any of the killala players what they think of there playing surface because your view from the stand you can't see how bad it is , as for tom langan park it must have been a while since you were there if at all

The decision to build a new pitch shows that Killala is looking to expand because of the big club that it is and move on and play senior football within the next years. As for Tom Langan park I was there 2 weeks ago and was apalled by the condition of the pitch and the changing rooms, quite frankly there an embarassment to ballycastle

This post is a disgrace. How can tom langan complain about killala and kilfian football pitch?? What sort of a club would host a music event playing popular tunes and hippity hop on their beloved GAA pitch? As for you Geard, you should know better than to start posts which will cause futhure fall out between Killala, Kilfian and Ballycastle. The situation is bad enough. I have witnessed at first hand the locals along with FAS workers spending weeks picking stones out of Kilfian pitch and I feel the pitch is now in satisfactory condition. As for you Tom Langan, I doubt you are the real Tom Langan at all. However you seem to be on the sensible side of the arguement.

Tom Langan doesnt no what hes talking about he needs to go and look at kilfians pitch then come back here and admit he was wrong. Tom Langan parks pitch is also a disgrace what kind of parish has a rock concert on their pitch a week before a match

GP Kilalla you must have been well drunk at Tom Langan Park last week as the only people on the football pitch for the entire day were footballers playing in the Tom Langan tournament. The rock concert was held on ground behind the pitch. All pitches around the county are under pressure due to the weather. As for your posts it seems to me that you just want to stir things and are not a genuine GAA fan. Your other post about the most disliked clubs which reads as the most envied is pretty lame and pathetic. Disliked or envied Ballycastle is 7th in the county on the role of honours for senior titles with 3. Also they have a man on the team of the millenium whcih only fifteen clubs in the country have that distinction. So less of the pathetic posts, GAA fans only wanted. As for Tom Langans post about the junior championship I think you might wait for the result next week before you slate him. Kiltimagh are well fancied to go straight up to intermediate again and Ballycastle should pose no threat to them.

just like to say unlucky to killala today heard they should have won it and its not a bad showing in the inter championship when everyone had them tipped for relegation and to some of the killala men on this forum i have nothing against killala just some of there posts on here

thanks tom langan, in relation to this topic as a killala man meself, i feel that the kilfian pitch is probably the best pitch in the local area, i remember karl dooher at the county final thanking kilfian for letting killala use their pitch to use for the odd training session. Also wish ballyc the best of luck next weekend, it will be a difficult match for them no doubt but they have nothing to lose

i don't think anyone is stupid enough to use the name of there club in there username. So I doubht it that gpkillala and killalaman are actually from Killala. There just there to stir things up between the local clubs.Alot of this happens with comments from up our side of the county as well.I never was actually at the Kilfian grounds. But I heard they are top of the range.

villamoy just so you know cricket is scored in run's and not points and if i lost by 10 run's in cricket it would actually be a tight game, just being realistic about the score ballycastle have a very young team only 2 player's over 27 and 9 players u21 and will get better over the next few years, were as kiltimagh are a very good inter team never mind junior and along with ardnaree should be favorite's for the title
