David Bray is 23. Aidan O'Shea would get my vote. Get player.

Has to be Micheal Murphy of Donegal

Cork have only Colm O'Neill from this year all Ireland U21 winning team
and indeed O'Neill first start was the game Donegal

Murphy, a truly great talent.

I put it to you is Murphy not the player of the year? No-one from Meath, Mayo or Kerry have set the championship on fire for any sustained period and I dont see any Dubs as contenders. So does the efforts of Lynch, Stephen O Neil, Pearse O Neil and Dermot Early really surpass Murphy's achievements? Top scorer, Standout player on the pitch against Cork when his 14 comrades didnt play at all, Decisive against Galway.

Bar Early i dont think any player this year has been as impressive as Murphy.

" The criteria for young player of the year is that it has to be your debut year in championship action "

Dont think this is right because Sean Cavanagh won it in 2003 and he had been playing in 2002 for us

At the start of the championship I expected Aidan O'Shea to be the outstanding young player of the championship. Although he had a fine season, I think Michael Murphy was the best young player this year. It is hard to believe that he is still only 18.

David Bray definitely too old at 23. Michael Murphy a shoe in for the big ball and Noel McGrath likewise for the small ball. By the way i think its likely that Marc O Se will be making David Bray and Tomas O Se will be marking Stephen Bray in the SF? This surely hasnt happened too often before?

Not sure that Michael Murphy will get the award as chunk of his scores came against the minnows like Carlow and Clare

Whitegoodman murphy has i think 36 points this year and i would say almost certainly he only got a combined 13 or so points against clare and carlow so that leaves over 20 points against better teams and if anyone has seen murphy play this year they would know he offers much more than just scores for example he set up both goals against derry and cork

Murphy has to win young player of the year has been probably in the top 6 players in the championship overall
