So your point is that if i have nothing good to say i should say nothing at all - but what i am saying is positive. Let the two clubs merge back together and it will do a lot for football in the area. I havent come on to slate Eastern Gaels. What i am saying is that Eastern Gaels and Ballyhaunis exist side by side with a very small pool to pick from. Why not merge and form a decent team? After all, they were one and the same club in the past.
If you want to dredge up previous posts and use them in an out of context manner thats fine. But its hardly furthering your argument is it?

Batigol you don't have a clue. A very small part of the EG area played with Bally H in the past, lads also played for Davits ballindine and Claremorris and also Aughamore. Why are you not canvasing for amalgamation with any of these clubs??

I don't think posts by you on this thread have been anything but negative. You go on about the club being a joke and EG players attending Bally H training sessions , when by the way the same 2 players don't have time to bless themselves they are soo busy with work never mind watch Bally h training, and EG people hating Ballyhaunis ect ect ect. You have also posted inaccurately when you say the club was formed out of hate for Bally H despite me posting twice the real reason. This is disrepectful and totally out of order.

Bottom line, it is none of your Businness,

Spooky , I admire your sincerity and passion for your club, but the facts are :Ballyhaunis don,t chase any of your players they come to us and if they are any good they will stay.Secondly you only have to go back to your recent posts where YOU wrote "EG just don,t like BH. Most Ballyhaunis GAA club members wish the best to EG and wish to see a healthy rivalry develope between the two clubs, also the Ballyhaunis people who want to see the end of EG club are doing it for their own reasons which have nothing to do with the promotion of Gaelic Football. !

TOP UP, I agreen with you on all counts, don't like and hate are 2 very diferent things. BH don't have a history of chasing players from EG. If a player or players from EG want to join BH , so be it and the best of luck to them, this is something for the 2 clubs and the players to decide and ratify, not Batigol sttue however it is wrong to name players on forums like this suggesting thy want to transfer.

Best of luck to Ballyhaunis for now and the future.

I seen eastern gaels lately and they were a very poor outfit but there is as bad as them in junior football so they shouldn't get to botherd about amalgimation.

Yes. Why would a "Ros" fan post in thread about the Mayo Junior Championhip. A Ballinglough man are you or are you just another mayo man in disguise

coming from an EG player fair enough it was bad year for us. but wel be back next year with a new edge. ye can stop debating about imalgimation with ballyhaunis
because its never gonna happen. we are happy with what we have. we have a great pitch and set up in brickens, excellent underage players coming up and when we have 80 eager youngsters training every saturday morning it really shows that we have a bright future ahead of us and that it would make no sense to join up with haunis. anyone who suggests imalgimation is been absolutely rediculous. the only thing wel have to do with haunis is when we play against them sunday week in brickens. cmon gaels

Next Sunday Eastern Gaels are playing Ballyhaunis at up in Brickens.Yes i think it will be a good game it may not be a game of fast flowing football but it will be closer than most people think.I know the above statement sounds ridiculous but there wont be more than 5 in it at the final whistle.I know Ballyhaunis are playing Intermediate football which in the end will probably be the difference between the sides but Eastern Gaels wont lie down and take a beaten on the home turf.

Also Eastern Gaels have very good facilities out there in brickens.Nice dressing rooms floodlit pitch ample parking place not a bad surface on there pitch.A lot of money and effort has gone in to this club and to see it join up with Ballyhaunis would not only be a shame for the people who have put some much effort in to the club it would be a shame for the people of the parish.People who come and watch the matches week in week out.Every parish the length and breath of Ireland are proud of there GAA Club and the people of Bekan,Brickens and Logboy are no different and this is only one of the reasons along with many more that we shouldnt join wih Ballyhaunis and that is Pride

Pride in our Parish, Pride in our community and Pride in our Jersey..

Eastern Gaels isnt just about the players who go training every week its about the people in our parish young and old who just want something to be Proud of.

In my opinion i dont think that Eastern Gaels should join up with Ballyhaunis. There are many people over the last 25 years that have put there heart and soul in to the club and to see all there work go to waste would be a shame and also very disappointing.Yes there is a rivilary between Eastern Gaels and Ballyhaunis but in Sport there is nothing wrong with a good local rivalry.

Over the last few years Eastern Gaels have lost a lot of players through emmigration etc.Yes its a setback but what rural club has this not happened to??

Like the club has a very good underager structure and there u 16 and minor teams are doin well which must bode well for the future.I know over the last few years that say the last 4 like they have only had 1 or 2 players that have progressed to the junior team which is a pity.

The problem with Eastern Gaels is not alone numbers yes that one problem but the real underlying problem is mentality and commitment. Some players think that its ok not to turn up to training for 3 or 4 weeks and then expect the day of the match to come and walk on to the team, like really in any team in the country this is not acceptable im not saying its not goin on because eveyone knows that it clearly is but in order to become successful this really shouldnt happen.

I have also noticed another thing from watching them play over the years. The problem of encouragment encouraging your players not fu**ing them out of it if they do something wrong. It maybe ok for the older players but for the younger players on the etam its knocks there confidence and then next time there on the ball the first thing that goes through there mind is sh!t if i make a mistake the lads are goin to kill me and this is not good for any player especially young lads.

Also i know this year that they didnt have a manager which didnt help there cause.A man on the sideline is a must for any team.A man that can take charge and make decisions tough or otherwise.

Like individually if you go through the team its actually not a bad team. Each person can play football, there is maybe half of them physically strong enough to compete for a 50:50 ball.Like individually there not bad footballers but in the end the is no I in team and that where this and other teams go wrong. Also there gameplan of playing it in to there corner forward time and time again is to predictable they need to have a few different way of palying the ball forward and getting diffferent men on the ball..

Not putting it in at training is probably there main problem.Like no pain no gain. There is prob 5 fit players on that team the others are just not putting the effort in.Its a simple as that.

jboy, you speak a lot of sense, however I would not be over confident re the result this weekend. I saw ballyhaunis play Killalla this year and they surprised everyone with a good win. F Kelly at full forward was excellent. For EG it is very important to be thinking long term and not to worry too much about the neighbours.
