Campbelltommy ,I note what you say and can only plead innocence when it comes to Mayo as my family hail from your neck of the woods. What I do find a little disappointing however is your exclaimed desire for a Kerry victory. If I were a Mayo man they are the last county I would be cheering. I think that goes some way to explaining why perhaps Tyrone have been so sucessful against them and sadly Mayo havent. You wouldnt catch a self respecting Tyrone (or I would argue Northern county supporter) man hoping for Kerry to win Sam if they had taken a beating in recent years. That I do think is an almost endemic problem for many southern counties. If you choose to bend the knee to the Kingdom they are guaranteed to be nice to you but never respect you. I hope that doesnt sound too harsh.

Paddy, i would love to get a shot at Mayo - you and i both know that Monaghan would wipe them physically - Mayo are too soft (as is the title of another thread).

I have to say I knew this comment would invoke this exact resonance. Stop the crying... Stop the whinging.... This is a typical example of the BS that I can't stand, and it always comes from the same corner Just last week when the Kerry Dublin game was being played on the Bank holiday Monday there were numerous threads about how Ulster weren't considered. To say Mayo whinge and moan is the most hypocritical statement I have read. Brolly County: Monaghan Posts: 405
387466 Well said Omen. The fact is thae Mayo people on this site seem to have a major chip on their shoulders. When did they last win an all ireland anyway?
Brolly you are just a typical example of the narcissistic fools that I referred too. What gives you the right to slag Connaught football? Monaghan football isn't exactly a joy to behold, but you wont here people posting their cynical threads "When did they last win an all Ireland anyway?" 1 All Ireland FINAL in 1930 and you have the right to criticise Mayo football. Take your head out of the sand. Calling the Connaught championship a Mickey Mouse cup is just a bit ridiculous. We can't help where we are located. That is an issue that needs to be taken to HQ. But regardless of how poor it we don't have to watch the predictability of the Ulster championship where Tyrone continuously stride through without breaking a sweat. gaelantrim County: Antrim Posts: 363 As you said yourself you have family in Mayo. Well this may come as a surprise but I have family in Kerry, so pardon me supporting Kerry Football.

Campbell, Just a few points. I'm not going to get involved with you an Mr Brolly's debate, however, in relation to the Ulster Championship, it may have been slightly predictable in relation to the winners this past number of years, but to suggest that Tyrone continiously stride through is ridiculous. Tyrone have contested only 5 finals and won 4 this decade, and with the exception of this year it was a hard slog. We beat Monaghan by 2 points in a final, Cavan the same, Down after a replay (when we should have lost the first game) and beaten by Armagh. The Ulster championship is almost never (again this year excepted) an easy touch. The fact is that all nine Ulster counties have contested the final this decade, therefore in any given year anyone could get to the final. This is not a reality in Connacht. Unless Galway and Mayo are drawn together in the semi-final, it is unlikely that another county will get to the final.
Finally Mr OGall may take exception with the mis-spelling of your own province. I also find it difficult to fathom someone who follows the GAA to call the province by its Anglicised version. I wonder??

Tommy, as you said you are new to this board. If you had seen the carryon of a section of Mayo supporters last year you wouldn't have to ask why there is so much bad feeling towards Mayo. It was probably only a couple of posters with multiple accounts but it done serious damage to your county on HS. Everyone has posters from their own county that make you cringe but these guys were out of line. I only joined because of a poster called 'Ball-boy' more commonly referred to as 'B-bag' but he went missing after the A.I. final.
Maybe some of the other genuine Mayo posters can enlighten Tommy.

Orlaith,
I dont agree with all of you post there. Are you trying to say Meath was an easy draw for Mayo? I know from your previous post it seems to go hard on you to give Meath much credit, but you are pulling from too far back now! Ive no doubt Meath would have beaten derry had they been their on sunday. Bit a little more gracious & give credit where its due.

Campbell - u started this ridiculous thread, not me. I dont have a pop at other counties or provinces unless provoked and thats what you set out to do with the drivel you posted at the beginning. nobody is creating 'a message to Connaught thread' Also - i have as much right to criticise anything on the site as the next man. People from Monaghan aren't creating pompus threads like u and paddy are - thats what my 'when did u last win the all ireland' line came from - u would swear u were footballs kingpins judging by your comments.

Not until Ulster football has more than 1 good spell should ye have the audacity to lecture anyone from Mayo about a sport that is 2nd nature to ye.
Quite possibly the most muddled, contradictory rubbish posted in a while. Terrible stuff. A county's sucess on the pitch doesn't directly correspond to the ability of people from that county to have an opinion. In some cases it's an educated opinion. In yours, it's not.

Tommy, Tommy, Tommy......you just couldnt resist could you. You and posters like you need to wake up and realise the reason we get such reactions is because of so called supporters like you, who start nonsensical, embarassing threads like this. Why shouldnt anyone with a good knowledge of GAA post something about mayo? You should have as much right to comment if you are a kilkenny football fan (unlikely i know!) as anywhere else. Look we're all hurting but taking it out on the counrty isnt going to help. We need to look within. On behalf on the genuine mayo fan....i do apologise for this utterly pointless thread.

Right,
This post should be put to bed, because to be honest CampbellTommy you are becoming really hard to get through to. Again, i'll repeat my self for you. Why do you give out about people not having the right to slag off Mayo? And again i'll agree with your sentiment. But this time instead of having a go at the poster: Brolly you are just a typical example of the narcissistic fools that I referred too.
You start to have a go at County Monaghan, YET AGAIN committing the same act you so venomously oppose:
Monaghan football isn't exactly a joy to behold. "When did they last win an all Ireland anyway?" 1 All Ireland FINAL in 1930 and you have the right to criticise Mayo football.
You are one of the "of the narcissistic fools" that you allure to.
Practice what you preach you egotistical hypocrite!!!!!!!!!!!

Brolly I didn't once big up Mayo. Nor until now did I criticise any other county. I merely used Louth and Antrim as Examples of threads I had seen in the past few days. I don't take pleasure criticising any other county, or when it is done to us. If you read my post I simply ask that people in glass houses not to through stones or machetes which has been the case in recent posts. I do respect a decent opinion, but when continuous negative posts come from a few individuals who hail from counties with little or no football background it becomes more than a bit hard to digest.

This is exactly whats wrong with the unfortunately vocal minority of Mayo fans. Louth have won 3 all irelands and have won one more recently than Mayo. Who do you think you are? Are you that deluded that you place Mayo in the pantheon of greats? Like I said on another similar thread - a complete lack of self-awareness. By your own foolish logic, you should not be commenting on Louth GAA matters.
The only reason Mayo have so much apparent heartache is because by the law of averages, you beat Galway every other year and a semi-final and you're heartbroken in the final. There is a long queue of counties who deserve all ireland and despite what a lot of "poor me" Mayo fans think, Mayo arent at the front of it.

Mayonews - well said...
I dont know y campbell vented his frustrations to mainly ulster when the slagging is countrywide. We took the criticism for the Derry game on the chin - yes we debated it but took it all the same. Mayo people may look at ourselves, antrim, louth etc as minnows, but our criticisms of Mayo or any other county with a larger disposal of talent has to be listened to also. Im sure smaller counties would love to have half the talent Mayo have at the minute but yet again Mayo have fallen. Serious questions must be asked about their players (have they got the stomach for it?) - they have sufficient talent to win an all ireland so it most frustrate genuine supporters like mayonews. I feel your pain and im glad u can see how mayo get targeted on this site due to the posts of the late Ballboy, paddyogall and most recently campbell...
