County Jersey's

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Must say.. the Cavan jersey is one of the nicest looking ones I have seen in a long long time.. Id also be fairly fond of my own county's 2nd strip (green one on show against Tyrone) The old Antrim strip with Bushmills as the sponsor has to up their as the best of all time.. Wouldnt be mad about Azzuri sponsored kits..... Any opinions??

Oh yeah the green one was really nice actually. A nice deep green, not the snotty kind you'd find on other jerseys around the country.

I like the "blue" Ros shirt but again being a bit biased. I also like the Offaly shirt wit the tri colour in it.
Don't like the Wexford shirt this year, very hard to do anything with purple/yellow but really bad this year.

Our white jersey (as seen against meath) is very nice. Dont like these collarless jerseys that are doing the rounds. Down with that sort of thing!!

As a Wicklow man this is hard to say- but I've always been very fond of the Carlow jersey-maybe because there's nothing else like it! Do Carlow have an away strip? If so, what's it like?I agree with the earlier comment about the Kildare away jersey- very cool. As someone else mentioned,Azzzuri and Gaelic Gear gear jerseys aren't very nice- kind of cheap loooking- like those dodgy replica soccer shirts you see for sale on holiday in Spain etc!

On a related (kind of) issue- where do the rest of you stand on the whole 'socks pulled up/socks rolled down' debate? Personally, I've always been suspicious of lads who pull their socks up though i'm not quite sure why!! Any thoughts?

Its clear that O'Neills have a monoply on producing gaelic jerseys. Theres very little competition and hence no incentive to produce quality jerseys. They seem to come up with one or two designs every year which will be worn by every club/county in the country. Most jerseys are badly fitted and made with cheap synthetic material, like my own club jersey which is about 3 times too big for most players and seems to be designed with our junior B full forward in mind only

Im suprised.. Carlow and Offaly?! Taught they be in the category of least favourite - Just my opinion! Wouldnt like the Wexford or Fermanagh tops either.

I always think of flare players (McDonald of Mayo) when I see lads with their socks pulled up
