Inishman what are raving about justice wise up as for the rules read the rule that apllies to the period between the 1st and 7th of August with those dates inclusive it's either a rule or not a rule still no way to win a championship it means nothing.

No club likes to win a championship in the board room (well apart from maybe Aodh Ruadh). It's hoped previous good relations between both clubs are not soured by this and that Cloughaneely can continue to supply St Eunans with some of their good quality players who can go on and emulate the achievements of former Cloughaneely players David Mc Ginley, James Gallagher and Terence Gallagher.

Just on that point of James Gallagher being sub keeper. I see he plays in the league but not in the championship. Could it be that St Eunans don't play him in the championship as they are feared of an appeal? A Cloughaneely man, living in Glenswilly, working in Mc Cumhaills!

Murt are you talking about the same David McGinley that I went to National school with in Letterkenny?

That's probably him alright RMDrive. The same David who spent 5 years in St Finians National school in Falcarragh. Did you not speak to the new boy when he joined you in 4th class or did you just assume he was in your class all that time?

Ah do you not think you're stretching it a wee bit there Murt? As maybe you know, the decision to move to LK was driven by his fathers work. Hardly fits with the picture you are trying to paint of Eunans.

Surely the players aren't happy with it.And having seen both teams play i have no doubt that cloughaneely would have won

But he didn't move to Letterkenny. He's living in Templedouglas. In Glenswilly. He's closer to the Termon club boundary than he is to Eunans.
If he wanted to move and not travel up and down to Falcaragh 3 times a week then Cloughaneely were right to let him go, but surely there's something wrong with him moving to Eunans when he's not in the catchment area.
I think that's the point that Murt is making, and I agree with him.

MURT ur comment on james gallagher is totally wrong 'he only plays league and not championship' the reason for that is that he has only been with st. eunans for 1 championship match and damien martin was choosen for nets instead of him the league games he played in he played because damien martin was not available. and no st eunans are not feared of an appeal whats there to b feared off??

Yeah, sorry RMDrive. Mix up in communication there.
Have no problem with any player living in Letterkenny playing with Eunans but someone living outside the catchment area and transferring to them is too much. Same as it would be for any other club. I wouldn't like it anymore if someone who's living in Ballyraine or Glencar transferred to the Glenswilly club, or any other club for that matter.
And this isn't meant as a dig at Eunans players who've moved to Letterkenny, for work or any other purporses, and signed for Eunans. Every club has 'blow-ins' and because of the make up of Letterkenny as a large urban centre, they are going to have more of a transient population that Urris or Fanad for example.
My annoyance at Eunans (hate is much too strong a word) comes from players who have trasferred to them from neighbouring clubs. I understand that going to Westmeath, Sligo or even Falcarragh 2 or 3 times a week for football is too much, but surely it's not too far to go to Newtown, Glenswilly or even the other end of Letterkenny to the Gaels.
