Can Tyrone handle Cork?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I think this will be the game of the year so far and i am looking forward to it so much !! How will Tyrone cope with the biggest team in the land ? What will Mickey Harte 's plan be for this game ? How will Cork cope with Tyrone's blanket marking ? One sure thing is that Cork wont register a big score but will Tyrone score enough to beat them ? Jaysus i cant wait for this one, should be a cracker !!

Rio - I think you may have missed my point re Tyrone Armagh and slogging sessions - generally speaking they were not for some of the feint-hearted folk on here, no matter the very occasional free flowing match. Personally speaking I loved them - I'd rather watch two teams hammer the ***** out of each other going all out to win than that pathetic muck that was served up by Dublin primarily on Monday. So I'm expecting both teams to do exactly that - hammer the ***** out of each other, hence I think it'll be a slogging session and hence not for some of the feint-hearted folk on here. Then again, I may be wrong and we'll get an exhibition of free flowing football, the likes of which haven't been seen in CP before - but I'll not be putting any money on that happening

Cork 7-4only with William Hill, 13-8 all others, Tyrone are 4-6 at best with PP and boylesports, 8-13 the rest, every firm offers the same for the draw 15-2

Noel O Leary might be a little indisciplined and their might be some question marks over the defensive capabilities of Miskella but Canty is one of the best footballers of this generation (I think that is without argument) and has rarely been destroyed by anyone. Shields is also a very promising full back.

Surely, Harte won't match McMahon with Miskella. Rory Kavanagh plays the same kind of role for Donegal, as McMahon does for Tyrone. Roaming up and down, sweeping up. Miskella will have another field day if this happens. Id be shocked if justin McMahon dosen't mark Pierce O'Neill. I'd also expect Tyrone to take a lot of short kick-outs

should be a tough battle, cant call it have a feeling cork will do it.
two good footballing teams.... but for the sake of the GAA I think a Cork v mayo or Meath final is needed. The Tyrone and Kerry rivalry is great but at the same time it is getting boring... something needed to freshen things up

tyrone in the past have seemed to be able to hang on thru an onslaught and then adapt their game to overcome, their very intelligent footballers. having said that its some cork team! im now thinking tyrone's shrewness could win out the day tho.

Oh stop the eulogising of this Cork side. Though I have the greatest of respect for the Rebel as a county Limerick should have beaten them and Limerick are most certainly not Tyrone. Why should Limerick nearly beat Cork but Tyrone have NO chance as some, mainly Mayo (YAWN) posters believe? It 's ALL about hope & expectation rather than reality for a lot of posters. It was the same last year.
