Will Kiltegan Win with Seanie Furlong Suspended?

Im putting money down on these predictions and hopefully they will come in:

Kiltegan v Stratford - Stratford win
Balto v Bray - Balto win
Rathnew v Donard- Rathnew win
St Pats v Hollywood - St pats win

I see Stratford/Grangecon are at 15/8 to win, have to be great value at that price depending on two factors:
If Paul Cronin is back from injury for Stratford?
If Seanie Furlong is suspended or not?

Furlong got a month as far as I know, big blow to Kiltegan who are missing players already.
Dont think Bray will win it to be honest, think St.Pats will be hard beat as much as it pains me to say it.

Newtown are 1-2 to beat Shillelagh on Tuesday, will the justify the huge favouritsm? League form goes out the window with championship and Newtown have been very poor in the league so far, the return of Deano will be a big plus.

Saturday nights results :
At Baltinglass : Stratford-Grg'Con 2.13 - Kiltegan 2.12 (+ S.Furlong did play)
At Aughrim : Rathnew 2.12 - Donard/Glens 0.07
At Aughrim : Blessington 0.16 - Gers-Ballymonie 1.09

From what I heard the standard of football was terrible in all games - besides the Co.Seniors on duty, no wonder Micko & Frenchy
did not use any subs in the Countys campagin....

Arklow Gers gave a good account against Blessington.. Good value for their half time lead. Ran out of steam in the second half. Rathnew overpowered Donard. Glynn got 2 great goals and Stephen Canavan and Stephen Cavanagh were very impressive.. Rocky the Baltinglass corner back could be a useful addition to the panel.

Senior Football Championship results - Sunday 9/8/09

Coolkenno 0.07pts - An Tochar 1.02pts -
(This was a dreadful yolk !!!) - O.M.G. how bad An Tochar have gone back..... Prob'ly be Jun A x 2011 or 2012

St.Patricks 0.15pts - Hollywood 0.08pts -
(Far too much class in St.Pats to slip up here, G.Duffy & R.Murphy were excellent in Midfield for St.Patricks)

Baltinglass 0.14pts - Bray Emts.1.08pts -
(Bray still very hard to understand , all that young talent going back, still not coming through - No Tom Walsh - back at rugby training with Tullow.
Baltinglass very focused - played well, and it was the best game of the weekend. Sinnot,Mc Grath, and Walsh at 13/14/15 would be on a par with the St.Patricks Full Forward line - If they don't meet along the way , it has to be Balto v Pats County Final)

Any 1 else at the games over the weekend - would comment on the preformances.

Was at kiltegan V Stratford game. kiltegan had a great start and great first half, never turned up for second half really with the exception of Jacko Dalton. Stratford improved 100% in second half and got some fine scores. Although some of their big names didnt rreally impose themselves on the game. Eoin O Neill was moved onto Seanie to keep him quiet and seemed to succeed in second half. Stratford have some issues with discipline players. I wouldnt go blaming Rathnew for everything that happened in that game earlier in the year. P Cronin was not really at the races for Stratford, missed a few frees that he would usually slot over. kiltegan are fairly weakened with the loss of Rory Finn, Derek Daly, Ado Foley, John Keogh and Alan Byrne. Being honest I cant see either team going too far this year.

Glad to see all my predictions came in at the weekend. In particular Stratford/ Grangecon. I hear they were ten points down at one stage and managed to come back. Was anyone at the game and if so how did they play and are they potential challengers after this result?

Stratford have some issues with player discipline, D Cronin and Stratfords number 10 were especially bad along with S Corrigan for Kiltegan.

Forcus have you a sudden change of heart? Before the weekend you were tipping Bray to beat Baltinglass and now you think Baltinglass will make the final. I see you were off on another couple of predictions too. An Tochar or Kiltegan also let you down.

Thats the beauty of sport - Thats why there are no poor bookies....
Yeap , I got if wrong & i take your point...
Baltinglass have improved a lot - No Tom Walsh for Bray ( Big Loss)
An Tochar , were terrible , really terrible ..... thought their Div.2 form might see them through...
Kiltegan , well that was I thought a banker !! but fair play to Strf.G'Con - they got the win....but some 1 mentioned that they did run Kiltegan
close last year in the Championship at some stage of it !!!

Can someone clear this point up for me.my reading of the rule is if you are sent with a straight red for a playing offence in a code the suspension only applies to that code but if you get a straight red for interference of any kind again a match official ie:Ref,Linesman,Umpire then any suspension incurred applies to all codes

was at the shillealagh newtown game this evening. Great game good football played through out. Shillealagh leadin at half time with two well taken goals from the full forward contributing. Newtown excellent second half think they won by four points after. Would have to fancy both teams to progress from that group some excellent players on show newtown will go far this year ross odlum ran the show second half until his unlucky sending off.

The score was Newtown 0-16 Shillelagh 3-05. In my book that is a 2 point win, not four!! Have u been at the other game from this group? I feel both Stratford and Newtown are favs to go through from this group. I really feel Stratford will beat Shillelagh, esp if they can stop their goal threat.

My predictions:
Newtown v Kiltegan - Newtown
Stratford v Shillelagh- Stratford
AGB v Bray - Bray
Balto v Blessington- Balto
Hollywood v Carnew- Carnew
St Pats v Tinahely- St Pats
Rathnew v An Tochar- Rathnew
Coolkenno v Donard- Draw

Anybody else predictions for next weekends games?

Pistelero ,
Your point on the Str8 red card issue would appear to be correct , as I know that situation arose a year ago in a 3rd level college semi final.
A player was given a Str8 Red card , in a College Hurling game for something he said to a referee's umpire -
He got 8 weeks in the "SIN BIN" &it cost him a place on the Signerson Cup game.
But for some reason , I think in Wicklow different rules , different Cards , and a Hollow CCC Group/Committee can make up different rules as they go along.
Yes !! your original point , I'd say is quite valid & correct....
Maybe , the North of Ireland Ref... that often posts messages here might clarify the position - I'd say he'd have a fair & very good idea of the situation.

The Furlong Case - Wicklow CCC are making up their own rules - Are you surprised?
Do you remember the St Pats v Shillelagh missing point debacle?
This year 2 Ballinacor Players were reported for Abuse to Officials and got 2 yellow cards. Both got 8 & 12 Weeks Suspension in all Codes. But they're not County Players.
Also The Bord na Nog Chairperson attended the CCC Meeting.
What Club is he from?
